Many years ago the Dept of Highways in my area would send out someone and wait for everyone in the area to get their drive ways cleaned out then send out the plows to block them.They thought is was a big joke to plug every ones driveway just after they had it cleaned out.So one night the supervisor was at work and a group of my neighbors gave him payback. 2 guys that had dump trucks completely filled his drive with many loads of snow.It wasn't so funny then. Payback is a bitch.

Excuse my snowplow ignorance......but does the plow scrape along the road? My thinking, and reason for my question, is....won't it break, if it hits a manhole cover, or crack in the road?
@djdeertz54508 жыл бұрын
Barton Seven they "float".. there are trip sensors that detect an impact and allow the plow to raise over the obstacle. On large obstacles however sometimes it's not enough and the plows do take a chunk of road with them. the plows don't break, they're solid steel or stainless, the road disintegrates in its path lol.
@BeezyKing998 жыл бұрын
Barton Seven if I remember right, they have sliders underneath and behind the scraper blade, set just an inch or two above the ground to prevent catching the road or manhole covers.. however, I can't be too sure about that.

@mib200004 жыл бұрын
I live in Syracuse NY and we get an average of 130" a season. In the last few years, our city plow drivers have found a new way to piss everyone off. Not only do they plow the driveway back in but now have figured out if they drive 30mph with a plow it will not only throw the snow on the edge of the road but it flys over onto the sidewalk. so everything you do is for nothing.
@JimHowDigsDirt4 жыл бұрын
We don't plow the driveways in on purpose! That's just where the snow goes when we plow it of the road and can't be avoided. As far as driving fast enough to fill in the sidewalks after they have been plowed... well that's just amature. A good plow operator would slow down and respect the work of others. Thanks for the comment!
