A Shocking End for Swampy (American Speed Fest 11 Vlog)

This is Swamp thing 4x4 Vlog of American Speedfest 11 that took place at Brands Hatch powered by Lucas Oil
In this show, swamp thing had a major issue with ignition system which we tried to resolve

As an enthusiast I'm looking forward to the fault finding on the ignition issue. You guys generally make it look easy, so much so it's easy to forget these machines are highly tuned, temperamental beasts! The massive arc from the coil when you plugged in the spare dizzy shows the power it takes to light off all the methanol and air getting rammed in there, compared to the meagre spark that does the job in a regular engine..... I think its amazing you manage to pull off so many shows every year with such reliability, this Vlog series shows what diligent attention to detail you put in to achieve that. A setback like this only goes to highlight that, thankyou for sharing it with us!

Thank you for your amazing comment The spark on the Monster Truck we use is 90,000 V so when we’re testing it, we make sure that we are nowhere near where it can hit you as if it is it really does hurt . We are going to start doing some finding today, but I have already ordered two complete new ignition systems

Loving the Shows and the Content you’re putting out 👍 just one thing with the fire extinguisher problem although you’ve done a cracking job on that but would it be possible to put a bar/kinda handle welded to the clip section so that both clips open at the same time to be able to grab the extinguisher and take it out in one swop rather than undoing each clip to get it out? Just a thought/idea not sure if that would work but thought it may be an idea 😁👍 Keep on monstering 😁

That is a good idea, but on the downside if they are both linked together, there’s a chance that if one clip comes, Loose would actually loosen the other one and still exit the fire extinguisher

Yes you can. It’s easiest to start with the system as you’re not relying on the engine spinning over quick enough to generate enough power to spark
