I have had all of these types. The “pop eye” is actually called a Telescope Eye goldfish. The one with the tumor looking thing on its head is a Lion Head and it’s called a wen. The one with the giant “cheeks” is a Bubble Eye. The ones with the fancy tails are called Fan Tails. And most of the goldfish with fan tails and wens are called Orandas. An example is the Panda Oranda which is the black and white mix. The fat little round ones are called Pearl Scales. I have had all of these types over the years. I love them! IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALSO KEEP THEM IN A SEPARATE TANK FORM REGULAR GOLDFISH AS THEY MAY GET PICKED ON AND INJURED!!! THEY ALSO ARE SLOWER SO THEY WILL NOT GET MUCH FOOD IF THERE IS COMPETITION!!! I suggest doing research and if you are a newbie to fish, DO NOT GET THESE! EXPERIENCED AQUARISTS ONLY! Edit: I’m like number 200 😊 Oh also if you are wondering, Goider was my telescope eye. Bubbles was my bubble eye. Tiny was my 9 inch FanRanda (what I call the fan tail oranda), he also had a wen. I had a Pearl scale named Pearl (original I know). I have had mini Black Moore’s goldfish, black and a gold named Midnight and Soleil (so-lay). It’s French for Sun. I actually trained Midnight to do several tricks including Fish Kissies, swimming through hoops, even kicking a little ball around with his nose! I actually contacted the Guinness Book of World Records to have him judged for Fish With The Most Repitoire Of Tricks as he had more than the current holder! Unfortunately, Midnight got sick while we were waiting for the judge to watch us as it took a few months for the appointment. He died 😢. I actually knew what was wrong with him via research and knew exactly what he needed for treatments. Unfortunately, there are no vets near me that work with fish so I couldn’t give him the medicine he needed. That is one thing I will also advise and warn about, that most likely no professional will be able to help your fish if they get sick. They are fine for beginners by the way, but still should be kept with their own kind as they are fragile due to their size. And I’ve had MANY basic goldfish over the years. The only kind I’ve not had (yet) is the Panda Oranda. I’ve had blacks golds reds and calicos. RIP my beloved fishies ❤

I miss you Bloop Bloop but, I know you're in a better place. I remember when we found you the neighbor put your tank outside because it'd sprung a leak, with you in it so, we took you in and got you a bigger and better tank and for the next five years you shined for us, giving our poor family a little gold to look forward to after a long days work. RIP Bloop Bloop. Age: unknown. Type: Common. Color: gold. Size: 9 in. Cause of death: dropsy.

PS One day I was practicing martial arts in front of his tank and he performed this down up helix maneuver he'd never done before, I mimicked it and it seemed to be a competent double spinning low high strike. Sorry for the little cringe but that moment we shared stood out in memory.
