This is absolutely my favorite of all the things you've made. I have recently agreed to become a penpal with another Journal lover and this envelope is going to be perfect for my 1st handwritten letter to her. Your tutorial could not have come at a better time. I am 67 years old and have not sent a handwritten letter to anyone since 1977 when I would write letters to my mom regularly when I was away in the Army. I still have that bag of 34 letters & they have become even more special to me since my mom passed away a month ago tomorrow. I think the art of sending handwritten letters has been lost and I want to do what I can to bring it back. Conversing on social media is just not the same because you have nothing in your hand as a keepsake. ♥️♥️♥️

I'm so sorry your mom is gone. Sounds like you had a good relationship and loved her alot. I hope having a new penpal to write to will lift your spirits when you are missing your mom. My own mom passed away 18 months ago. I am learning to make junk journals to save the letters and cards she sent me. Hugs.

@@marciec6859🦋 Thank you for your sweet comment. I had been my mom's caregiver for 10 years so it is quite an adjustment but my husband and I we're ready for it. We hadn't been able to go to church together for 2 years. My mom had her body donated for medical science so there isn't a grave site to go to. But there are plenty of memories within our home that make us laugh and cry. I think your card idea is a good one. I have a friend who has made memory journals out of cards she's received from various people. ♥️

@@paperpuddles Very close. Our families were close. My husband and I cared for and gave support to my Mom who was the primary caretaker for my Dad during his 4 year downhill journey from multiple strokes. Only a few months after his death, she was diagnosed at 82 with ovarian cancer. She moved in with us and did 10 months of chemo, although we knew it was not a diagnosis she would survive. She would have likely preferred to not undergo the chemo but she knew how hard it would be for us to lose her. I have only one surviving brother and no sisters, so mom was everything to me. She lived 1 year and 3 days after her diagnosis day. My parents left me their country home and half of the beautiful farmland I grew up on. It and the cemetery where they rest is an hour away. My husband and I would like to retire there.

I am so very sorry for your loss. 😪 I can absolutely relate because my Dad passed 7 weeks ago today. 😪 He bravely and courageously fought for 5 years with leukemia. He never complained! He did 5 years of a specific chemo drug and was admitted into hospital many times over that time. He steadily lost weight and in the end was nothing but skin and bones. He never lost his incredible sense of humor and I miss him terribly! But, I am happy that he is no longer in pain. While going through some of his things I came across a few of his beautiful drawings and I will treasure them forever! ~* I L❤VE you Pop❣*~

You're so funny. You were totally right about that little piece of French blue fabric. I love this envelope idea. I'm also very excited about your new packs. I have to admit I am hoarding the packs I've gotten from you. Except for the fabric washi. I do use that. But I want to use the other paper and fabric packs on something special. I've been practicing making book style junk journals with scrapbook paper and other random papers. Now that I've gotten better I'll be using your packs and other vintage ephemera I've collected to make some of those. And tea dyed papers of course.

My incredibly cherished daughter by another mother sent me a picture of her work area and the girl is a neat freak, highly organized, everything I am not, so I sent her a photo back of my desk, and it was filled with the final stages of a signature using the majority of your gorgeous papers, as well as from others that blend so beautifully. There was lace, and my sizzix, and she wrote back about how beautiful my desk is, and I replied, I know, it inspires me with everything. I have to sell this journal, but I wish I could keep it. You will think this is ridiculous, especially since due to injuries to my respiratory track, i cannot eat anything spicey, because it literally will burn the scar tissue, but i cant stop watching a cooking channel from Cambodia where the national ketchup is a pounded hot chili, garlic and lime, but they also wrap it in lettuce and cucumber slices and fruit, to cool.the burn. You taught me you absolutely can combine lovely pastels with brighter papers, toned down with pastels. Mixed media with paper and fabrics is so much fun. I wish everyone would give it a try. Oh how adorable this project is, I must try it out...thanks for sharing...here is a cost saving tip ( don't throw away your staz on ink pad, they sell reinker to add to the ink pad when it gets dry.)......it is so much cheaper then buying a new ink pad.
