Tie one up almost exactly like this and have done real well in the Smokie Mountains with it. I do tie it just a tad smaller due to the smaller fish in the streams I fish but like you said for such a simple tie and simple materials it is really effective. On my smaller ties I I use peacock hurl and triple it so the body is bigger and it is a fish catcher for sure. Been fishing for over 40 years and what I have found is some of the most basic and simple ties end up being the most productive. Thanks for sharing and tight lines.

I order 5.5 mm and 6.4 mm tungsten small slotted beads and up to 5.5 mm inverted beads out of Europe for my heavy jig streamers. I also tie in tungsten putty type strips for extra weight. Great video and jig !!! I appreciate your tying videos!! Thanks!!

Working on a variation: tail is a 1/16" wide strip of olive - brown Kiley's Exoskin, body dubbed uv dark olive Ice Dub, plus a collar of olive black barred ostrich herl.

It's a Green Weenie with a rubber leg tail instead of a loop chenille tail.I would think spanflex would also work OK for the tail.
