In this video I show you a portable, easily-stowable shower that makes the task of getting clean on the go or at home for folks who live primitively or off-the-grid...easy. This shower is offered by Ring Automotive and the simplicity and super-small size make it a good candidate for the tiny house dweller. You can pick one up on Amazon here: amzn.to/1fYYE03. Thanks for watching and see you on the next video!

Yes I have this one. It works with 4 D cell batteries. The water pressure is not too high, so that your water will last longer giving you time to enjoy that shower. I used it to wash the dog :) just yesterday.

Good review, i've seen these for sale but hard to judge their capabilities from specs. Looks like a better flow rate than the garden sprayer type. The submerged component is actually a submersible pump, item no.3 looks like a power supply.

We used this system for years. Boil up some water, cool it down as required, pour it into a carry system with wheels, drop in the pump and away you go. NO heavy lifting, no carrying water and frugal use of water. Carry system. You can get the carry system on eBay USA.

The larger box is only the power supply, the submersible component is the actual pump.

My girlfriend lives in the UK in a flat that she rents and likes my shower when she is here. this is EXACTLY what I was thinking to make was something exactly like this. She could turn on her warn water from the spigot at X rate and the pump could pump it up and out like a shower.... Any idea where I can get the pump like this? are there stronger versions? As far as a 'manual' pump I thought something ou could rock back and forth on, like shifting your weight....

Unfortunately it doesn't pump very well/high (elevation above the water source/container/bucket). On batteries it can barely get the water above 3' higher than the water level...on 12v power connection it takes it up to about 4'. So if you don't have a way to get your water bucket/container within 2' to 3' of your head expect little more than a dribble. As you saw from the video, the spray pattern may appear nice but these are tiny spray nozzles. You're better off with a cup and pouring water over your head (for the cost of the pump ($35) at the time of my purchase). The pump is nice that it can fit into jerry cans and other small openings which you couldn't do with a cup.

Is the pressure enough to wet hair? I have thick hair and I cut off 14" of hair because I am now living in an RV full time.... No shower or toilet so I'm borrowing a friends shower, but I have thick hair and I need a little bit of pressure. I've looked at several brands like this... Also, What did you plug yours in to?
@K9River
@K9River 9 жыл бұрын
I can't speak specifically about longer, thicker hair, but pressure is important. I use something similar and used gel super glue to block some of the holes to increase water pressure. This reduced the amount of water coming out, but the pressure more than made up for the lack of water. I left 8 holes open. Bringing the water near or higher than head level will make a huge difference in pressure, too.

Gravity feed solar showers @ camping stores. Fill with warm water, Hang it up, Stand under it. Clear side allows you to see when it's nearing empty, to rinse off.

neat. I was thinking if you have that metal bucket filled with water then couldn't you put a couple hot rocks into it to warm the water? Right from the campfire, I suppose they'd be a bit dirty though.
@ChrisHarne
@ChrisHarne 10 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it would work, but in practice this would just make the rocks instantly cooler with little change to the water temperature. I do not remember the scientific explanation. Something about density.
@ryanyoungson6762
@ryanyoungson6762 10 жыл бұрын
Chris Harne I think you're referring to the heat capacity of water, it takes more heat energy to raise temperature. Probably easier to put the filled metal bucket near-ish the fire to warm up slowly... doubles up as a fire extinguisher too.

The rocks are amazingly effective at heating and even boiling water in an amazingly short amount of time. Last week I went on a guided tour at a buffalo jump and they showed us how to cook using heated rocks and water. It was fun.

At 1:33 you mention a garden pump shower is not as simple as your multi-piece and its multi-step to setup, shower. We all have our druthers but no, a garden sprayer with it's own adjustable spray head is MUCH-much simpler, very compact, lightweight, spill-proof, etc-etc.. . I use the one quart hand held sprayer and it works quite nice. Believe it or not, being a 6' male it's rare I use the whole quart, hair included BTW. The larger 1 or 2 gallon sprayer is usually needed for the ladies. It has a wand that's bendable with a spring loaded shut-off. This can be hand held or wall hook mounted and works just like a home shower. Just slightly over warm the water, fill the pump jug, and by the time your all set to shower the temp is just right. The one quart pump bottle works GREAT as my multi-use sprayer. It rinses our dishes (soap in sponge), her plant water/sprayer and it wash & rinse the bike, (GoldWing). . FM

Its rubbish - piss poor dribble and after a few months the rubber seals go..better off with a quality bit of kit like the whale HI FLOW subermsible pump - attach it to a 12v battery and you have high pressure.
