The reality is that some families don't get along, and sometimes Thanksgiving is divided rather than together. This video compliments that fact. It also says if you love to cook, enjoy Thanksgiving in the kitchen. Do your thing regardless of how many people are there.

My wife and I did this today. Everything was amazing, thank you. We thought the turkey was a little salty, so we'll cut back on the salt in the brine next time but plan to do this every year now. Thank you so much.

I don't understand how a person could dis canned cranberry sauce in the same video they profess love for packet gravy. That's some strong cognitive dissonance right there. (Love you anyway, Farideh!)
@ninja_tony3 жыл бұрын
I get it. I prefer both to be homemade, but you can make packet gravy pass for the real thing if you doctor it up enough, whereas canned cranberry sauce will never taste like the real thing.

Thank you for highlighting the concept that you do not NEED to have a big family Thanksgiving and furthermore, you can politely decline an invitation because this badass just taught you guys how to make your own thanksgiving dinner WITH enough for leftovers if you're by yourself! Yay for Turkey, but Fuck Thanksgiving if it's only going to cause pain.

Why would thanksgiving cause pain?? I totally understand not everyone has a family to spend it with, but if you do, it’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.

love when siblings who barely cook have an opinion about your cooking.. i feel you Farideh lol. I'm a recipe developer/professionally trained chef in Toronto, and my brother cooks the same pasta dish around 3 times a year and he constantly challenges my food lol. it's called jealousy and unable to give you your flowers because of inadequacy. everyone thinks they know how to cook because everyone needs to eat LOL. couldn't be further from the truth. but when it comes to them wanting to look good, they'll brag and say "oh my sister is food media star, amazing chef" etc. le sigh

At 00:57 a little tip for guys using jars and bowls as weights to keep things submerged, put it in right side up. When bowls or jars fill with the liquid they will keep the food down nice and secure. Upside down traps air easily and they could flip and give out.
