thank you for this video, a 6 min video taught me more than a full semester of operative dentistry, they never explained in detail the difference btw the generations.

extremely informative. one quick question. I find that after placing my adhesive and blowing it dry and light curing, that on a radiograpgh there is a radiolucent area under the composite I have placed. any suggestion on how to avoid this radiolucent area, that almost looks like a poor fill. Thank you. Lanny

Does primer need curing?
@TheComprehensiveDentist3 жыл бұрын
With a three step system, no. If it is mixed with the adhesive, as in a 5th generation or 6th generation, then yes.

@@TheComprehensiveDentist but why in 6th generation? Its not mixed with adhesive...in 6th gen the primer comes combined with acid etch
@TheComprehensiveDentist3 жыл бұрын
Joy Baishya the only component of a bonding agent that can be cured is the adhesive. The primer has no light initiators or activators to be curable. The job of the primer is to carry the monomer into the dentin for bonding to the adhesive.

Currently, I use Optibond FL for core buildups (self cure or dual-cure materials) and I use ClearFil SE for direct composites.
