Before our daughter turned two earlier this year we used the baby Aveeno body/ hair wash. We have recently switched to the Cerave baby body/hair wash. We use the same diaper rash cream every since she was an infant. LOVE IT and always recommend it! Then her body lotion we use Aveeno baby body lotion, sometimes the original and sometimes the lavender scented if she has been having trouble sleeping. I need to start looking at sunscreen for her since it is starting to get warm enough to go outside.

Now I already have an imaginary skincare routine for my future kids even though I'm only 20 lol. My ideal routine for my kids: 1. Avene XeraCalm AD Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing oil to remove sunscreen (fragrance-free, eczema-approved) 2. Etude House Soon Jung cleanser (fragrance-free, mild surfactants, ph 6.5) 3. Cerave baby moisturizing lotion (fragrance-free, contains niacinamide and ceramides) 4. Derma E zinc sunscreen (fragrance-free, zinc oxide is great for sensitive children's skin) 5. Cure Aqua Gel once a week (fragrance-free, mild physical exfoliation starting from age 11-14, before I switch them over to a mild chemical exfoliant by Cosrx or Paula's Choice when they turn 15 )

My son had wonderful skin, I mostly used coconut oil for him. My daughter, poor thing, had some skin issues... specifically baby acne. It was heartbreaking. I used Mustela Baby no-rinse micellar water to cleanse her face with twice a day and it finally cleared. Same thing with her though, she LOVES the routine of it - she smiles as the cotton ball glides over her face, I draw little pictures with it and she just sighs. It's precious. I do find she has little facial flare ups when its hot, and I use the the same routine to help calm those little flare ups.

Pooja Pandya I’m an early childhood teacher and I live in Australia so sunscreen is a big part of our routine. The I leave a little area around their eyes ( kind of like the area you would put on your eye cream) Because when you blink, the cream sort of creeps up the skin and if you go too close to the eyes as the child blinks there is more chance of the cream going into their eyes. And sunscreen hurts in eyes!

Thanks for this. I couldn’t work out if you put screen on your children daily, or just the days you’ll be out in the sun all day? Also we live in a country which doesn’t get a lot of sun (so much so that there is a lot of people lacking in vitamin d) would sun screen be needed daily in this instance or just days when the sun is out? (I’m also wondering that about my adult routine and spf🤣)
@youaresociety40354 жыл бұрын
Most people focus on supplementing with vitamin D pills, ...it's cancer vs vitamin D deficiency and with modern medicine you don't need the sun to keep your vitamin D levels up but I think you should ask a doctor, since people are different

What i have read about non nano zinc since im a marine biology student and ocean life is what interests me and it so happen im not interested in skin damage in general so i wear sunscreen everyday. Nano titanium dioxide and Nano zinc oxide is the most harmful inorganic sunscreen ingredient because they penetrate coral polyps really well. Since zinc oxide is stable, its really more dangerous than organic sunscreen "chemical" because the latter degrades while these metal oxides dont so they have higher chances of getting into coral reefs. Please susan, talk about this. Research about this so people can be informed.
