Jerry Patterson was my best friend in high school , we made many bands together, he was the original drummer of a skylit drive before corn dog joined , Jerry was also the live drummer for WatchOut there’s Ghosts tours . I haven’t seen Jerry in years but I hope he’s doing great and is able to come see ya when we play swan fest this year 🙏 also thanks Rob for the flash black live video . Jordan B

This is beautiful. I mean I love the first album but holy shit this is phenomenal. I always find the bands original vision better than the labels version.

First of all, I agree. Second, you'd be surprised how little of intervention there was on Jordan's writing and recording process. It sounds like, as a teenager, the rest of the band already had the studio instrumental recorded and they basically let Jordan go crazy with his different vocal takes that wound up making the cut in the layers. His performance on the album was a test of his abilities. They already had almost all the melodies down in practice, and they already practiced gang shouts and backup vocals like a pro. So Jordan already had an idea going in on exactly how he wanted it to sound and that's completely unheard of with a lot of bands now. It's kind of freakish how professional this band always was in their presentation, even with their demos. The way they write instrumentals; the band name; their image; Jordan's work ethic in a booth and writing lyrics in a notebook; how well the band plays live almost every time without fail; etc. And they were *teenagers* ??? Edit: how can teenagers write this kind of music seamlessly? And they were a bit ahead of their time. And you know from hearing Jordan how much of the band was a solid vision. They wanted to make Soul Caliber and Final Fantasy AMV type music. What a specific aesthetic to hone in on before it was a thing

Jordan and my son, Jerry, had been in Random Intelligence together during high school. After Jerry's senior year, they formed another band called Ann Arbor,. I think some members from a Lodi band called Farkus merged with Ann Arbor to start a new group.. Jerry is the one who came up with the new band name, "A Skylit Drive". A Skylit Drive performed many shows while working out their original material. As an interested parent, I video-recorded most of those shows. I'll upload those shows when I have a chance to do some video transfers. Jerry left "A Skylit Drive" and was replaced by Cory. Sometime after Cory's arrival, the band made a music video and released an EP.

I am Jerry's Dad. Ann Arbor merged with others from Lodi and became "A Skylit Drive". I saw this rendition at a few different venues and made video recordings like this. A few years ago, I uploaded it several videos I had made through the years. It may still be 'unlisted' because I didn't have time to look at them carefully.

@@Cactus270 I'll give you some Jordan trivia here... Josh Stotts and Jerry Patterson had started a band called "Random Intelligence" in Galt while they were both juniors in high school. Very early on, Jordan came on as the Bass Player and quickly became the lead singer. They did shows in Lodi and met up with guys from Farkus (a Lodi Band). For his Senior Year, Jerry went to Michigan to stay with Family and graduate there. Ann Arbor is the name of a town in Michigan. Jordan flew out to visit him that year and on the trip back to the Airport, he saw the Exit signs for Ann Arbor. That's when he said, "We'll name our next band Ann Arbor." That's what they did. However, it wasn't long before members of Farkus and Ann Arbor merged into yet a new band. It was Jerry who came up with the name "A Skylit Drive". They did a number of shows as "A Skylit Drive". I attended many of them and kept making videos like this one. The boys would watch the videos because I told them it would help them become better at their craft. I'll upload them as I locate them. I lost track of "A Skylit Drive" after Jerry left. I have never met Cory or Jag... but I was always interested in anything I happened to see online from Nick or Joey. Those two boys had impressed me during the days that they were putting together these early songs.

We went to Warped Tour and saw Senses Fails, to Dashboard Confessional--just like a soccer Mom. I canceled myspace in 2007 but didn't back up anything.
