Good job on staying with the problem and locating it. Many times when you have a lack of spark from the coil, you will discover that you either have a (high) broken wire or a (short) where it’s bare somewhere and grounding out. 9 times out of 10 when a wire has a break that is not observable it is at the terminal end where the factory got too heavy handed crimping. Having a scrap harness means you can harvest a new end and solder/shrink it on thus maintaining the color coding
