Harley Davidson did a hole motorcycle like that, as a kid I had it in the Easy Rider magazine sold in Germany and I was hooked, the needle went right thru the arm- that´s how hooked I was- kinda still am. That candy flake Harley looked so cool with its fifteen rear lights and lit antenna tips... This is a cool car- I even could live with the pedals but the shifter I´d rip out at once, too. Replace it with an 8ball thing. I am used to a more spohisticated, light shift feel where the gates are where they should be- this seems rather a loose proposal, a slight hint. All the cars I had were manuals, my old 67 Beetle had the nicest shift of all, the 73 VW Bus the worst. Its gates were like these. G´Day and Kind Regards

@@DeadDodgeGarage I've been running a billet roller cam on my 408 stroker for years. I converted the roller lifters by removing the guts, then took an old set of lifters I had laying around. They were either mopar or comp cam's lifter's. Took the guts out of them and found the main body inside was near perfect to swap out into the magnum lifters. It took up the gap left by the spring and spacer near perfect. Had just enough room to fit the steel retainer spring back in. Did this around 12 years ago and been using the same set of lifters in my stroker and when it blew up I used them in a hot little 318 magnum and back to the stroker when I fixed it. Adjustable rockers needed of course but it didn't cost me any more than some time in measuring and digging through my stash of lifters. A few years back, I remember that everybody and their mother was looking for a late 60’s or 1970 Dodge Dart (especially GT’s) that were not totally rotted away. I assume the magority of them had the old reliable slant 6 but what was the biggest engine, that was a regular production car (not Mr. Norm type) you could get in a Dart? And before people laugh at the slant 6, there were cabs in my city in the late 90’s with 100’s of thousands of miles on them that had the original slant 6 engines in them. They finally junked them because the rest of the car parts were getting beat or the cars were rotting away….but the engine were still running in most of them. Amazing!

273 V8 was the only option until ‘67, at which point 383 big blocks started finding their way into the new, larger A-body - and then the 340 arrived for ‘68. Why do you use silicone only on inlet valley ends
@DeadDodgeGarage6 ай бұрын
Because the end seals in the kits often don’t fit with aftermarket intakes (or, worse, if any deck work has been done,) and they end up holding the intake up off of the main gaskets. Once, my brother convinced me to use the corks on a 340 we were building. So I did, and it leaked coolant into the crankcase because those gaskets didn’t seal. That was all the lesson I needed.

High temp silicone both sides of the exhaust gasket, let dry over night and install.

I never have, and I don’t think I ever will. I’d rather just fix the root issue if I can.

@@DeadDodgeGarage Could you remove the exhaust manifold & do some Dremel-type grinder surgery & fix the clearance issue?

Good work. I really enjoyed this video. So what kind of shifter is on this thing? In my opinion the only shifter that should be used on an A-833 transmission is a Hurst Competition Plus.
@DeadDodgeGarage6 ай бұрын
It’s the same standard Hurst shifter we’ve got on everything else. It’s almost identical to the competition plus, but it’s less competitiony. Lol. He made the handle himself.
