Come along as I do a ride on my wife's Tern HSD from St. Louis Park Minnesota to Perennial Cycle bike shop in Minneapolis. This video gives a good look at the state of the active mobility infrastructure in the area that allows me to reach a bike shop without ever needing to ride on the road with cars. I hope you enjoy it!

Sound is perfect Brandon. Nice to see some free bike paths in the US.

Nice video on a bright sunny day, thanks for sharing! As a resident of Michigan it's kinda comforting to see another person ride in conditions I'm used to seeing....salty roads, giant trucks, not great trail maintenance, etc. :-)

I'll tell you what. I'm Dutch and did watch the video all the way through. Reason for watching is finding out the possibilities of cycling in MN. Looks like there's a lot to ride and good to see that car traffic slows down for cyclists. Thanks for the upload!

Thanks for this video. I watched the whole thing! As I recently moved to a location with some snow, this was very helpful to see how you navigate the snow/ice, also talking about your tires and gear. I have been accustomed to going fast on my E-bike to prove that it is as convenient/fast as the car it replaced. But with snow, I need to go slow, and enjoy the ride. Already slide out and crashed the bike in a round-a-bout. so lots for me to learn!

Thanks, nice video and long enough! I like long rides, so much to see (and hear).

When I bought the cabin I have lived in now since 2006. I took my Brompton here to look at it. It was in February and we had some fresh snow in the town I lived in then. Rode to the bus that took me to the train station. The snow reached up the to gears, but it was manageable. Once I arrived to my destination, there was no snow, but all the roads here had hard white hard pack. So I rode all the way out here (40mins or so) on summer non studded tires. I think the smaller wheels made balance better if anything. Ice would've been very difficult though.

When I lived in Minnesota, my area would be under snowfall for months at a time and most of my riding routes were snowpack. I never had studded tires up there. Riding on snow is so easy. It's the icy regions that get you.

9:27 Someone was stupid enough that they felt the need to put the sign up. What made you move from St Louis Park, MN to Carmel, IN? Did your wife's Tern come with the frame lock? I really want one for my bike, but not sure if ti's possible to install one.

Hello to all the staunchest bicycle adepts! 🖐😀 I live in Yekaterinburg, Russia. I have been working as a bicycle courier for thirteen years. Our city has a population of 1.5 million. I do daily computing 38 kilometers diagonal of the city. At the same time, I drive from the north-eastern outskirts through the central square to the office of my employer on the south-western outskirts. There are very few cyclists in winter. Nevertheless, if the weather is good, then during the trip I meet up to five people. Sometimes the weather is relatively cool, and then cyclists are rare. The coldest temperature on such a trip this winter was -34 ° C and the wind was strong, so on the way I went to supermarkets to warm my hands and feet. There is a lot of snow in our region. Today we have skidded all the roads, and the snow continues. Tomorrow the weather forecast is -21 ° С.
