“Cauliflower rice stir fry” from Trader Joe’s is amazinggggg. Throw it in a pan, crack some eggs in there, now you have egg fried rice. It’s low calorie, tastes good, and it’s already seasoned

thank you for this. i feel like ED mindset is so normalised especially going into the summer it's like everyone is talking about how to loose half your body weight in two weeks like 😭 especially coming from so called fitness amd health people, there's nothing healthy about that mindset

Easy way is to eat whole foods, eat at home and avoid processed foods. You would be surprised how much food you have to eat in order to overeat when you aren't eating junk.
@alisteyn66 ай бұрын
Thiss!!! Eating real food that fuels your body and gives you what you need usually satisfies what your body is asking for compared to other things like fast food where it doesn't have all the nutrients your body needs thus making you crave more in an attempt to satiate your needs.

There are so many factors that influence weight loss… some people (like me), literally have to be low carb to lose weight especially after my 30s. Carbs make me tired. Oatmeal doesn’t like me but I love oatmeal 😩. There’s also the issue of hormones especially for women. If you have insulin resistance, you will NOT lose weight even if you’re in a calorie deficit because your body will hold on to that weight. That’s a reason why a lot of people incorporate intermittent fasting. So I don’t believe that people who choose to cut a food group have a bad relationship with food. That’s simply not true across the board. I worked with a nutritionist and trainers and I followed their food plan to the T… my body does not like excess carbs… my coach was finally like let’s cut the carbs back and see… worked like a charm. Calories and calories out is no longer all that is required. Everyone is different… do your research on hormones and insulin resistance.

For me, what kills me is candy. I have an emotional-dependency relationship with it. I get bloated, I get tired quickly and retain liquids. But I use candy to feel better in the moments of emotional distress. I was 1 month ago trying to quite it, and it was hell. I was thinking about candy the whole day 😅. Now I know it s really an addiction , and I cannot have candy anytime, in any condition or at least not in my calorie deficit journey. I am still in my journey to figure out what is best for me, but at least I know myself better now. Great video, Bre. I always enjoy it.

When you figure it out, PLEASE tell us. Candy is my arch nemesis. And I love the worst kinds; mixed berry skittles, nerds, lemon heads, cherry heads, sour punch straws, gummy bears, gummy twin snakes. I could eat until my teeth hurt.
@keilahmills92714 ай бұрын
If you like sour candy, frozen grapes with lemon juice is a great alternative. If you like really sweet candy (dried mango, strawberries, banana). Also fresh fruit is also a great alternative.

When I was 15 I started tracking calories in an attempt to "lose some extra weight" since I was overweight at the time. Just taking note of what I ate turned into micromanaging everything and not giving myself proper nutrition. I thought it was fine since I wasn't skinny and only losing about 1kg a month. In my mind it wasn't dangerous, if it was i would've been sickly. Obviously, that's not true and by the time I was 16 I dropped 12kgs. For about another year I didn't change my eating habits at all, and my weight stayed stable despite not eating nearly enough. The solution in my mind back then was just to eat even less, but when I did that I actually started gaining weight back. In recent months I learned to focus on the nutritional benefits a food offers rather than the calories. I still track, it's a really hard habit to break but I switched my focus to macros rather than calories. I'm eating the amount of food my body needs now paired with workouts 3-4 times a week (rather than obsessively every day) and my weight is staying at a stable number while physically I'm thinner than I was when I was starving myself. Starving yourself doesn't make you lose weight, listening to your body and giving it what it needs with a gentler approach does.

as a shorty bestie myself (5'0 to be exact), I can honestly relate to the 10-15 extra pounds comment you made (also, idc for cooking either,,, I would rather be a princess and have someone cook me meals). im a vegetarian for ethical, moral, and personal (I have never liked the taste of meat for as long as I can remember) reasons for 6 years this July (or august), so it has been pretty difficult to make a healthy plate that fulfills a calorie deficit. not to sound as superior or anything bc everybody's different, I rarely have strong cravings and I don't go pass my intermittent fasting timing (it's a game changer. I would do a vice versa thing where I eat something heavy in the morning and something lighter in the afternoon/early evening,,, it just depends on my mood on such) and fast foods rarely sounds appealing to me, but ya know I would throw down for a bowl of pasta or a slice or two of the good good New York pizza from time to time! my relationship with food has been healing for these 6 years and I love listening to my body when she's full, hungry, or dehydrated (was drinking water during the water section of the ep).

I find I have to slow everything internal in my life down and create more social obligations to quicken the external to help me slow my mind to get rid of most of my cravings that hit during the first and second parts of my day if that makes sense. Once I do this I just have to remember to eat mostly healthy mid to late evening and I'm good with feeling stable in my diet.

i do want to add that if you have autoimmune or genetic disease then you literally cannot process carbs properly. metabolic health is influenced by the mitochondria

@@Someonesname188 it’s a deep dive but feel free to search on any research database about mitochondrial health as it relates to metabolism, autoimmunity or genetic disease and B/T cells (really any of them but most research seems to revolve around lupus, ms, and arthritis. I have ehlers danlos syndrome)
@tinypwincess3336 ай бұрын
@@Someonesname188 sure! It’s a deep dive and depends on the disease at hand for the specific biological mechanisms. Here is a description for arthritis, and for reference carbs are immediately broken down as glucose: “The metabolic signature of RA T cells is characterized by the shunting of glucose toward the pentose phosphate pathway and toward biosynthetic activity. During the intermediate and terminal phase of RA-imposed tissue inflammation, tissue-residing macrophages, T cells, B cells and stromal cells are chronically activated and under high metabolic stress, creating a microenvironment poor in oxygen and glucose, but rich in metabolic intermediates, such as lactate. By sensing tissue lactate, synovial T cells lose their mobility and are trapped in the tissue niche. The linkage of defective DNA repair, misbalanced metabolic pathways, autoimmunity, and tissue inflammation in RA encourages metabolic interference as a novel treatment strategy during both the early stages of tolerance breakdown and the late stages of tissue inflammation. “ www.frontiersin.org/journals/immunology/articles/10.3389/fimmu.2021.652771/full

7:16 if you have ADHD this advice is not for you. Our brains literally do not want us to drink water. So any hydration is better than no hydration. If you need stuff to have a flavour to be able to drink enough - do that! (I like to use low call flavour syrups for water! Game changer, i drink so much now)
@alisteyn66 ай бұрын
Yes! Water also isn't the only thing that gives us hydration, so incorporating things like watery fruits and sugar free sports drinks can be really helpful to make sure you get enough hydration and electrolytes in.

How is suing about false advertisement weird? It sets a precedent that companies can’t just slap claims and titles without proper studies. It would be way worse if we let them do whatever we want. So I can’t help but disagree about the poppi lawsuit part even if poppi did actually benefit your gut. It should always be investigated before making claims.

PS, the comment about the ganga girlies... I definitely am one of those girlies, but I don't have an issue with munchies because what I do is just wait to smoke until right before dinner or my actual meal that I was already planning on having. I very rarely overindulge from a smoke sesh, but from a night out, ABSOLUTELY. But I mean, that's just me. The rest of the tips are definitely things I will be implementing!

Hey, Bestie B! Just a question. You mentioned that hunger could be mistaken as dehydration. Don’t you mean the opposite, that is dehydration being mistaken for hunger? A lot of times, when we actually need water, we end up mistaking that to be hunger pangs and snack. Let me know if what I interpreted was wrong!
