I've always had a soft spot for Tissot, great honest watches with good designs at a sensible price. I like that the chronograph hands are a different colour for easy reading of the timing and it's great that we get to see that well proven workhorse 7753 serviceable movement. The retro design cushion style case looks great as well. OK on paper it measures a tad thick but my Longines BigEye that uses the same base movement (without the date but column wheel chrono) is perfectly OK on my 7" wrist. This watch is certainly worth a look.

Actually the rotor design isn't a "casual" skeleton, it actually resembles the magnesium wheels used in early-70s Formula cars (for me it was worth mentioning 😉)

Own this watch and its absolutely lovely. This and the PRX Powermatic 80 (blue) are my daily wears. I have larger wrists and it fits me well. The height can be a little problematic and under shirts the cuff closure is a problem but dont often wear it with formal attire/full sleeves. Purchased post seeing this review, thanks Teddy keep up the great work.

Hello, thank you for this review. When I was looking to buy one I found out that there are 4 pieces in total. 3 you presented and 1 extra limited edition. What puzzles me is the pricing, limited can be acquired cheaper than standard 3 siblings. Does anybody have idea why is that? Thank you.

Nice review. Loris Kessel passed away in 2010... so he's no longer around, I'm afraid. I bought this watch earlier this year. The design is of course retro but funky. I have a 7 1/4th inch wrist and it sits very snug. It's big, yes, but it has soft lines and doesn't look aggressive. Dial and finishing are first rate, very detailed. I don't see this as a Hamilton alternative, though. It's more like that one fun watch to wear now and then...
@96corvette92 жыл бұрын
I wish this was smaller. I badly want a fun chronograph with racing history like this attached to it. Any thoughts on other options? The Yema Speedgraf is the only other that comes to mind for me.
@SlickNic2 жыл бұрын
I would probably recommend either the Baltic Tricompax (although I think it sold out quickly), the Straton Chrono Curve and the Farer Monopusher. All have that fun 70s style chronograph but wearing a little smaller than this Tissot.

That's beautiful, but I'm really hating this trend of squashing the date window in-between the 4 and 5 it really spoils the whole aesthetic. Shame really because other than that it's stunning. Love the colourway too and the finishing looks top notch.
@jaredwolf96383 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Not only that but it’s angled! It’s looks awful and draws unnecessary attention. Bell and Ross do an ok job with the date at that spot but honestly, unless you are a Rolex Submariner, the 6 o’clock position is the correct position.

Anyone know where I can get a very similarly styled watch (case shape preferably a bit smaller, orange dial hands and configuration and j general funky ness) at a more entry level price? Like 1-300$ us. Quartz/mecha obviously.
@TimHunold3 жыл бұрын
I really think the blue face with a lighter brown strap then it comes with would be a nice touch. I do like the other black and white panda face but I would have to say that these are maybe $500 or $600 more than they should be for this brand. Since 1973 is my birth year I've collected a lot of chronos from my birth year and somehow this thing showed up and it hit the nail on the head for me. I just have to justify spending that much on this. I'd rather spend several thousand more on something with an actual heritage.

Why do they still make watches that big :/... I guess non-watch enthusiasts like the bigger ones because of their presence, selling more units. Even 40mm would've been acceptable

Teddy, stuff the centimeters for wrist size. If you insist on using them, please translate into Imperial units also. All of us are familiar with millimeters for watch sizes, but once you stretch that into centimeters for other uses you're making this into an unwanted math lesson.
@pinkbono3 жыл бұрын
Imperial units is a nonsense of history as much as driving on the left side of the road, it belongs to a past era, try coping with the metric units instead ;D

I second the motion for giving wrist sizes in inches as opposed to centimeters. If it's your sincere intent to convey information, you need to convey it in an easily understandable manner. If you insist on only using metrics, you might as well be speaking French.
@avokevo53943 жыл бұрын
Lol I’m American but is it really that hard to measure or convert to centimeters? Come on John..
@avokevo53943 жыл бұрын
Also I’m guessing Teddy has a fairly international focused following, so he is likely catering towards the largest common audience. Again though, if you need the conversion just ask your phone.

@@avokevo5394 Sorry, but if it's Teddy's intention to convey information, then it's HIS responsibility to do so in an understandable format. I'm not here for a metric conversion lesson while watching what is basically just a commercial. When it becomes work, it's time to unsubscribe. Call me old fashioned, but if the speaker can't convey information well, then there's no use in watching.
@yianpap60933 жыл бұрын
@@johnslaughter9699 Old-fashioned is not a bad thing, but close-minded is. Understandable to whom? His audience is obviously international and English is the international language. Only 3 countries in the world use the Imperial system, the U.S., Liberia and Myanmar. I am guessing you are an American who thinks his country is the whole world basically? And you cannot do a simple division in your mind? I mean I knew since I was 10yrs old that an inch is 2.5cm...
