I suggest continuing to rearrange things. Right now, the residential area is the least exciting part of your city, so making it a focal point doesn’t seem ideal, especially with all the roads up there taking up valuable space. Moving the Ninjago area was a good call as it just does not fit, but I’d recommend adding something more visually striking and with more height on those platforms. Ideally, something with a lot of green space. Possibly dedicating part of the area to a large botanical garden. Anyways, just my two cents.

Up house should be down in the city next to the construction. I like the residential being up on the hill… could even build some fancy stilt houses to be on the side of the mountain. The zoo might work better over by the amusement park, too, instead of prime beach-front real estate.
@jackkramer678726 күн бұрын
Now that you have the Botanical Garden by the zoo you should put in a sky walk over it, like in Banff or the Grand Canyon. Keep up the good work, love your videos!

Why not just put the Ninjago sets as part of the amusement park just like Disney has Baatu, Tomorrowland, Frontierland etc.
@caseyelkins17226 күн бұрын
What if the zoo is where Ninjago was and the houses are where the zoo currently is? Then the residential area would feed into the beach, downtown, and into the countryside. The skate park could be moved/expanded like you mentioned in a previous video and some playground equipment could be added. Some of the downtown buildings could be moved closer to where the residential used to be if more space is needed for residential. It would also allow you to keep the original idea of having the zoo come off the mountain.

I think moving the residential area to the hills is the best option, not only because it is what is done in real cities, but also because it allows the houses, which are smaller, to stand out on top of the taller buildings of the downtown. I would love if the Monster Fighter haunted house was moved next to the new residential area, raised by a few bricks, overlooking it Edward Scissorhands style. The only thing I would change is the tunnel under the new residential area. It makes so much more sense to move it where you initially placed it in the last video, before putting it back where it was. That way, it would align with the street, and connect to the gravel road in the country side before crossing the stream and not being hidden behind Winnie the Pooh's tree

1. I think that you should use some of those curved slope pieces that come in the Road Plate packs at the top of the ramps to make a smoother looking transition 2. You should also consider using the glow in the dark 1x2 plates that also come from those for something it could look really cool 3. If the mountains are going to be up to the edge, you should put in some caves or even a mine of some sort, lego did make 2 different waves of gold miners set's for city you could look at for inspiration, maybe get some idk 4. I also think that it would make more sense for the Ninjago City sets to be part of the canal since they are already waterfront buildings, as such, you wouldn't need to mills plate them(I know that would be a massive pain since I have Ninjago City Markets and have seen how let's say complex it is)you would only need to make a walkway ramp on each end

The whole point of this is to have fun experimenting with the layout. I know it’s a lot of building but have the mountains or Ninjago or residential area in one place for a while and switch it when you get bored with that. You have it all on plates that you can move easily around for the most part so enjoy the process. No need to overthink it. Mountains in one area for a couple of months then change the location. I watch your channel to get ideas and stay excited about my Lego city. That’s what it’s about. If I can give suggestions that help you that’s a bonus for me! It’s fun. I do like it like that! - maybe there could be a water source coming from inside the botanical garden or next to it, maybe a hot spring that would warm the botanical garden, which would explain why they chose to build it there, and then you could lead the river up there. That would make it a very beautiful garden place with an incredible view - it is a joy to follow the development of the city btw
@aaronfiller893026 күн бұрын
Love the residential area up high, I think you could try gradually elevating them (like with the canal/town hall area) to blend with the nearby mountains and break up the boxyness. Also, moving Ninjago city to be behind/part of the theme park would make so much sense. Plus, it would then be adjacent to the winter vilage table, so you have more depth to build the mountains. Only some suggestions though, great work as always and appreciate your drive and passion!
@richardrussell402225 күн бұрын
Bricksie, love the idea of a lower platform for Ninjago. Maybe consider starting a lower hill in front of where you'd build the mountain and incorporate the tunnel to the countryside into the hill, placing Ninjago on top of the hill instead of the higher baseplate area. You'd be able to keep all those baseplates up top and keep your goal of have the mountains gradually build. Overall, I don't know how realistic those massive flat retaining walls are. It would be an architectural feat to hold back that much landmass with those walls. Go natural!
@BradAnderson-b8o26 күн бұрын
Always thought it would look cool to run the amusement park on top of the central raised platforms, directly behind the zoo. Trains running through tunnels beneath the park would be pretty sweet! Downtown could then extend into the space left open in the back. Maybe Ninjago sets all together on that smaller island display would give them a prime viewing spot . . they look incredible!

Why not put Ninjago in the downtown area and integrate it in with the canal, since the Ninjago sets are already designed to be built on bodies of water? It could be a little Ninjago district within the main city core.

I’ve been waiting many months for these videos where he realizes the mountain was taking up too much space. If he still wants a large mountain range it would take up less space if it was just across the back of the table. That way you really only have to consider the front of the mountain and not worry about having enough space to slope the mountain down on the back side. The back side could just be a solid flat wall that not one will see, or build little scenes into the back like a Batcave or mine shaft or bear den.
@DalekKhronos26 күн бұрын
I would move the stream down to the other end, and have the water flowing from the Ninjago city 'reservoir.' along with the botanical garden, we need a super sized x mansion towering over the zoo(*edit - afterthought - the botanical gardens could be a part of the x mansion's estate*), with a broken golden gate bridge piece protruding from the cliff side, to recreate magneto battle scene. Also, an afterthought, it would be great to see some global buildings in the city, like Britain's houses of parliament and 10 downing street in the main city (mods obviously, I have seen some great ones on rebrickable), and maybe the Sydney Opera House in with Ninjago, in that water based style. Another great one would be putting the Eiffel tower in the city or theme park area, although not sure about that as it might tower over everything else too much, being As huge as it is 😅. These ideas would be beneficial as people across the world will feel more of a connection to the city, and it makes it stand out with the international icons. As always, loving the content! 💙
