Such a great singer and by all accounts just as good of a person. She had everything in the world going for her and it seems incredible she suffered from self image problems and worse that it would end her life in what should have been her prime years. It’s still mystifying to this day.

I love listening to her talk . She is a great speaker. OMG so talented. Very rare

This video shows how great the Carpenters truly were. We begin to understand that people from all corners of the gutter threw jabs and negative comments at the band. The band was making great music; despite the large fan base, there are people to this day who cannot listen to the Carpenters because they find the genre of music "too clean or childish". These same people have never once listened to an album, nor understood a quality example of pop music. The Carpenters made quality pop music.

This video really typifies Karen as she was a really, really innovative performer. Many people and bands have tried to immulate her but she is the originator and she does does the best version of this Leon Russell classic. This song is timeless.

Imagine what life would if Karen Carpenter was around singing, dancing, and just spreading her love.
Karen's voice and her musical contribution to the world and her many fans who deeply loved her music I forever will remember Karen for the music she sang and so many folk loved I give you Karen Anne Carpenter born 1950 .... A angel now is in heaven

I love hearing her speak (not just sing). She had just one (1) single demon (inside of her) -- whereas most human beings have more than one ; in fact many people have _many_ demons. It figures, if it wasn't for the one single demon that plagued Karen …

She would have been great in a musical and the tv loves her too!!!

Those that make negative comments have nothing better to do than trash people who have made something of themselves. They have no talent like the Carpenters. The results of the Carpenters speak for themselves, the musicians that backed them and their parents for raising two wonderful children. Greg

@amaraca I don't think it's that clear cut. Karen had a beautiful voice a sensitive soul matched by few. The thought of seeking perfection, trying to be loved and accept by all is unfortunately not the reality of her time and not the reality, yet, of our time. I wish to change that..but it's one step at a time. I wish she knew how precious she was!

One commentator said in the comment section below that the the moment at 4:34 is from German "Starparade." If so, I'd certainly love to see the full episode of "Starparade" with Karen in it. I've googled it but I can't seem to find it. Could someone please upload it? Karen is absolutely radiant and drop-dead gorgeous there.

When I was watching a documentary about Karen, I noticed the resemblance to Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter fame. In a way of Dexter was skinnier, he somewhat resembles Richard. I liked the movie they did years ago, but it was mediocre. They should do another one and get Jennifer to play Karen. Karen deserves a better portrayal of her life. No one can sing like her.

@karencarpenterfan1 I've dreamed about Karen from time-to-time...every dream is the same...they're in the studio...Karen in the vocal booth singing something... and then usually within a few weeks i hear about a some "unreleased" material that Richard is putting out...

It should be their problem, not the Carpenters)) If someone doesn't have taste - than well... There is nothing we can do about it.. But to be honest, almost each superstar has to deal with negative comments through his/her career..
