I believe that I have read or heard that Rhaegar Targaryen was said to be a somber, serious, and melancholy man. I wonder if he was this way since birth or did he only begin to be that way after he read or saw whatever it was that caused the change?

3:41:30-no magic in LotR / ASOIAF: The argument that there is no magic in the LotR might be that "inherent powers" are "natural" vs the type of magic that is casting of some kind of spell. It depends on how you define magic. I personally would still say LotR has magic because what the Elves, Maia, and Valar do is not just how the world works (the other sentient creatures can't do it). I haven't seen an argument that there is no magic in ASOIAF, maybe it again has to do with there not being an overt casting of spells. But unlike LotR there is no hierarchy of beings like god and angels and devils to explain the powers.

So i found some people saying that Gendry could be a King at the end of the series. I have some argumments about that, but first Jon, Dany and YG should die and they will propably will after the fight against White Walkers. So my argumments why Gendry has the biggest claim is 1. He is the oldest male bastard of Robert 2. Stannis and Varys knows about him Lords Jon Arryn and Stannis Baratheon called upon Tobho and Gendry during their investigation into Robert's children and Varys helps him escspe the KingsLanding 3. Varys works for YG propably a Blackfyre , but if YG dies. Varys would rather have Baratheon for a King than a Targeryan. 4. He could marry Arya and bring North back to the realm. (Robert and Ned agreement at the start) 5. Stannis propably said to Davos and some other people about Gendry and if he dies against Boltons he would have back up plan to save his House name. 6. Stannis cares about rules and he knows that Gendry is the older than Ederic Storm. He gott screwed up by Renly a younger brother. 7. Varys could also support Gendry, if YG dies 8. Common people would love him as a King 9. Most of the lords would like him also Its a bit of strech, but there is some hint in the books

How did Robert think Lyanna died? Hej mourns her Death, but does he know she died in childbirth?
@Baalslegion07 Жыл бұрын
Best possible thing he heard: Killed by Kingsguard or Rhaegar Most likely what he heard: Raped by Rheagar repeatedly, then locked up to be used as incubator for his next child and then died in childbirth, birthing a child that also dies. Definitly would explain his hatred of Targaryens. Maybe Ned just told him dhe was dead when he arrived? Keeping the possibility of a child out of it might be what Ned would do. Who knows. But I mean, if Robert still dreams about killing the bloke, he mus truly hate him. Just kidnappingthe woman wouldn't be enough to cause that. Indirectly causing her death also wouldn't do it. It meeds to be bad enough to make him THAT mad

@@akchanneltv4084 there is no right. it's whoever gets it. i guess because you can say he is the rightful legal king from bobby b but was bobby baratheon the rightful king? or did he just take it? so then it's like whoever is the best at marketing is going to usual win those kind of struggles and I'm not sure people know this but stannis isn't an outgoing person lol or even likeable both by us the readers/watchers or the people over there in words on the pages but yeah of course he should get it because those twerps aren't his but what about his bastards? he didn't get a chance to legitimize him but if they were to rise up for a little rebellion then people would say that deserved it. like i said marketing and likeability and stannis missed those classes over at storm's landing lol

Stannis is a bad guy in how he tries to attain what is rightfully his. He supports Melisandre burning a LOT of people alive just for not believing in Rh'llor. Then Stannis assassinates a bunch of people (including his own brother) using blood magic. And he plans to kill an innocent boy (his own nephew) so he can do more blood magic. Not many people in ASOIAF that are worse than Stannis, and that's saying something.

"The way that the show ended with 2 dragons dead and one flying off, hopefully never to be seen again" - well that last dragon flying off is not Drogon, not anymore. It's Daenerys. This makes much more sense to me than the "Drogon flying off nonsense". Then they've placed that line that apparently doesn't add any value: "And Drogon ? (...) Maybe I can find him." No, you can't. You may find Drogon's body, but on the inside there's someone else. P.S. Yes, it was Daenerys who burned the iron throne (and not kill Jon). Note: You do address this during the video. About Dany having warging abilities, you said ."There's nothing that led up to that idea". There absolutely is. Daznak's Pit. Dany taints an injured and wild Drogon. So it's not a calm and quaiet dragon she taints. It's a wild and injured one. The fact that Drogon is wild (and acting out of control - until Dany gets involved) is the clue for me that there is another type of bond between Dany and Drogon.

I personally highly doubt there will be an industrial revolution in westerns unless something radically changes the entire structure of society there. For one westerns is roughly equivalent to medieval Europe but with fantasy/magic added and a few areas where they're considerably more knowledgeable. However this period lasted not much more than 500 hundred years, possibly around 2000 years if you include Rome as the age of heroes to our medieval times. Westerns however has been at the near exact level for at least 5000 years so one first has to ask why they've not had an industrial revolution in massively more time? More importantly IMO though is the size of westerns as one same speaking nation even though they only became a single kingdom with Aegon 300 years ago the 7 kingdoms and more have been around with the same language and in contact with each other all that time. Many say its closest analogue is the UK which I can see. However it's more like the size of the US. This leads to a considerably smaller population density other than cities as I can't recall a medieval city having a million inhabitants! Without the need to support more and more mouths from so much less land the massive coincidences and incentives that drove the industrial and agricultural revolutions just aren't likely. Britain and subsequently the worlds industrial and now tech revolutions only came about and gave us this civilisation because of a highly unlikely series of flukes in some instances or were driven by the previous fluke and would never happen without the former. The industrial revolution wouldn't have been able to build modern cities and industry without the means to support populations many times the size of medieval ones. This was only possible because of the agricultural revolution, which in tern was only driven by the demand from industrial cities. This coupled with britains small size and a load of other flukes meant the civilisation we all now see as western couldn't have happened. The transport revolution was driven by the agricultural and industrial ones but early parts wouldn't have been enough in a nation the size of westerns. It had to be small like Britain. For this and many other regions I can't see westerns ever becoming anything other than where it is unless it is some how radically changed.
