The plaintiff says her daughter, the defendant, resents her because she is the product of an affair. The plaintiff claims she gave her daughter a loan when her paycheck didn’t go through but hasn’t been paid back, so she’s suing. The defendant insists her mother has always favored her sister, and she denies owing anything.

When? She owed her daughter to conceive her in wedlock. She owed her the truth about who her father is. How she gon say the father didn’t want to tell her yet? It’s up to her fornicating behind, the one who carried & delivered the child to tell her who her father is & she kept it from her on purpose. She set all of this in motion and still tryna put the responsibility on others.

Exactly illegitimate parents. Just straight messy having an affair having affairs with married men and all this nonsense then you bring a child in the world and they do treat the child different because it’s a product of their affair and they feel some type of way because the father doesn’t wanna be bothered but what did they really expect that he’s gonna leave his wife for them it’s just these mothers are messy and I really feel sorry for that daughter

Thank you. This case hit home. My mom claims she doesn't know why it's hard to love me, but still won't admit it has anything to do with losing her first love and fiancé b/c they cheated on each other while he was deployed and she was away at college. They could get past each other cheating, yet he couldn't get past her having another man's child from it, and I honestly think that's why she gave up, never tried to get to know me, and sent us to live with family members when I was a week old. She doesn't see the connection, but the fact that she was able to love her husband's kids, but not me should tell her something. I honestly think when children come from unfavorable messes that illegitimate parents create, then it's better to give them up for adoption into a suitable family who will love them rather than bouncing around with family you burden them with and foster care - they're usually treated like throw away children in circumstances like that, so if these illegitimate parents aren't man and woman enough to treat the children right, then just give them to a family who actually wants them and will treat them right right...

@@startinajackson606maybe she expected him to be an adult and take care of his child. A cheating man isn’t a prize to a mistress and definitely not to a wife. Hell many of us went through worse than that and still came out on top not sitting around wallowing in being a bum! SMDH I don’t want to hear it. These moms do what they can to provide and protect these kids. They turn into ungrateful adults and want to play victim. Judge Mathis was a little bit of an enabler on this case. Call your mom poor, yet you have no job, a baby and a man that doesn't show up. If your biological dad wanted to be in your life he would have. He is a coward. I pray she gets the help she needs because as a Black woman we rarely have the luxury of being victims, we are warriors!

Sometimes we are victims, though. This trope that Black women have to be "warriors" all the time is part of the reason so many sisters are depressed out here. I'm not saying the daughter has made all the right decisions in life, because she clearly needs to get herself together and do better, but teenagers say and do dumb things--that doesn't make them any less victims of parents' poor decisions.
@4nomenal28
@4nomenal28 Жыл бұрын
Of course we are victims often, but when you heal, you become a survivor! You have to want that. Yes, we deserve to take our capes off, and the sooner you let go of the pain,, you can do so.I just don't think she should have treated her mom so badly for doing her best. It's the same as when I hear so many blaming their moms for absent dads. Most women don't chose that.
@ambzcloud
@ambzcloud Жыл бұрын
@Monique Shuntae I totally get what you're saying about wanting to heal. And I certainly think that absent fathers are solely responsible for their decisions to be absent. But I'd also wager that a woman who is having unprotected sex with a married man is aware that she is making a choice that will likely harm any potential offspring of that union, whether it's in regard to child support or physical presence. The mother here seems like she has been supportive of her daughter and I really respect and appreciate that. I definitely don't think she's one of those demon mothers. I just wish more people would give credit to the fact that you don't just reach the age of adulthood and suddenly have no negative feelings toward the things that hurt you when you were a minor. Most Black folks don't talk about the importance of therapy and mental health wellness, so I can't be mad at her for not knowing how to stop feeling victimized and be a "warrior". She never even finished high school. She couldn't really vocalize a general plan for how she was going to get from point A to B in her life, so I suspect that she doesn't even think about wanting to heal; she just lives in the moment [and then makes bad decisions].

@@kandylaland I don’t have nothing all wrong because I wouldn’t sue my kids. My mom raised me w/ respect,responsibility and she spoiled me because I earned it. I’m grown and she always tells me if I need her let her know however I don’t use my mother nor ask her for money even the times I was struggling for a time period because she did her part already by raising me which is why I said in my comment stop helping your kid if you notice a pattern in them using you or not learning responsibility. However I still wouldn’t sue my kid, I just wouldn’t help them financially anymore.

I’m trying to figure out what the mom needed to take accountability for. You’re father didn’t want to be in your life. Your moms husband did. They thought it would be best to wait until you were old enough to understand the situation before they told you. A messy family member thought different. Where was mom wrong?

I believe the daughter. Mothers do be mad at their kids especially when the man they want don’t want them. I believe the mom gave an ultimatum to her father and he chose his wife and now mom is bitter and resentful and took it out on the daughter. We see it all the time. However the daughter is grown and has to move on from the past. I know it hurts but we’re here now and she has to make a way for herself and her child.

I do agree that a that would cause a lot of trauma finding out about your dad but i feel like as you get older you can’t just be throwing that excuse to not like your mom around and then still ask for money and favors. I heard favoritism not abuse. it’s normal to feel favoritism between siblings but some parents won’t even hold themselves accountable or let alone help their kids out pass 18.
