What I saw was a happy, loving, beautiful family....and the last photo of Doug,Belle and Maverick stole my heart, the only flaw is you weren't in it too.. Ashley your lovely pictures capture a slowed down life. A family living a simple, happy, full life. Thanks for sharing your life with us, we are emotionally invested in you 💛 How best to use the spare gazebo is a tough decision. You already have a shower but you don't have a covered patio for the grill. But, an outside shower comes in super handy in the summer. On the other hand a grill cooks without a roof. Wow, this is a tough choice. In my humble opinion the grill wins because a covered grill can be used year around. While an inside shower can also be used year around.

I've had medical apts canceled and rescheduled without my consent. The pictures just bring tears Ashley. Thank you. the one at 10:46 is impressive....for a time every shot taken of me I was hid somewhere inside of nature - you had to look to find me. Please always feel free to share...there is something about the photo that captures time, and using the old camera already makes it seem so long ago, and knowing now, just how time flows - I think it is an amazing tribute to your family and I love each and every one of them, and you guys. You're right, I do consider you my kids, my 'young couple now in Florida' when I talk to others about your latest video or what you're now doing.

I think your grill would be used more if you put it on the sceened in porch. As for the shower, I think the frogs and bugs will love it also. Ashley your family pictures were fabulous. Such wonderful memories. Last week we were in our basement just cleaning the carpet and my Husband came across my old trunk. Inside he found my old Brownie camera and it still had film in it. I had this camera since I was 4 years old. The pictures came out kind of cloudy but OH what memories. Pictures of my childhood in the 60s. Pictures are a real treasure. ❤

I would suggest using the gazebo for the outdoor kitchen and screen it in so it becomes more living space - and then use pallets or fencing etc. to make the outdoor shower. The gazebo is a bit big for an outdoor shower and you would get so much more use out of it as a kitchen.

The 1984 home looks bigger now that the trees have been removed and the house has been leveled. The photos of you all are just beautiful. It's been a joy watching your children grow up these last 4 years I've been subscribed. Yay to you building your kitchen cabinets and pantry. You can do it Doug I know you can! I vote for a combo outdoor kitchen and shower; place the kitchen on one side and the shower on the other since you're not planning to make it a full kitchen.

I vote for the outdoor kitchen. The shower doesn't require as much space, and you can just build a small secluded shower area with little cost, closer to a back or side entrance to the house. And if you do the kitchen you could then use the laundry lounge as an expanded eating area. I love watching your family. You seem to have so much peace and affection expressed in kindness.

Skip the gazebo shower. That is an awesome idea that I think you would use but it could be much smaller than that gazebo. It seems to be the perfect size for an outdoor kitchen.

I don't know what your plans for the shower are but the kitchen is something you can use often for most of the year in Florida. I would definitely choose that first and build a shower later. We vote for the outdoor kitchen. We have a blackstone griddle and enjoy it for everything from pancakes to steak. We also found a rolling sink, shelf combination at Walmart with hookup for garden house and drain pipe. We have an outdoor kitchen on our deck. We also have an outdoor shower. It's uncovered.

I would choose the outdoor shower. The sand and dirt could stay outside and saving on the plumbing and the wooden floors. Then I would put in a summer kitchen with the griddle on the porch closest to the indoor kitchen. Also I would put a utility sink for washing up near your grill. Do not plumb it let it drain in a 5 gallon bucket. Clean up would be so easy.

Screened outdoor kitchen for sure. Walmart has the portable outdoor kitchen sinks. My local one has them on sale. Hook up a garden hose to it when you need it and use a 10 gal. bucket underneath to catch the gray water. Ashley your pictures are wonderful, but you need to be in them too. Can you get a camera with a timer? I can’t wait to see what you do with the kitchen cabinets. You guys shouldn’t have much trouble building the boxes. Doug has gotten pretty good with the power tools. 😊

I vote for the kitchen first. You are going into the cooler months and can take advantage of that probably right away. I imagine the shower will be used mostly in the hotter months 🤷‍♀️. Love love love the pictures ❤ thank you for sharing

Most people who have outdoor kitchens say they wish they were bigger and had more amenities. I worry that forcing a full kitchen under a standard gazebo would limit what you could put in it and limit its usefulness. Before you make a final decision make a dream list of everything you could want and then try to draw out a floor plan to see if you can make it fit. If you can’t make everything you want in a kitchen fit then I would use it for a shower. Good luck deciding this a a tricky one.

Tough choice. An outdoor shower would be very cool but the kitchen probably would get used more. Unless, you can do 50/50. Half shower and then half kitchen. Just a thought. 😊

You should definitely go for the kitchen since you have a smaller galley kitchen anyway, it would be way more functional and it’s beneficial for your low air conditioning usage

Ashley, I love that you have preserved your family memories to film. I don't trust "The Cloud," and have lost many precious photos to lost or failed electronic equipment. Doug, I don't feel like I have enough information to vote on your choice of kitchen or shower. Outdoor kitchens were commonplace in the past and very practical in areas that had hot weather, to keep the heat out of the living area. It seems like a good choice for your family, especially since you have chosen to avoid using air conditioning. I don't recall you ever having talked about what sort of a diet your family engages in, or how much cooking you actually do. (As someone who loves to cook & bake, I can never have a kitchen that is too big, LOL) You've only hinted at why you would want an outdoor shower, so only you can decide which of the choices would work best for your family! ❤

Definitely do a screened outdoor kitchen where you can cook. Three sides need to be screened with the forth side being a wall for plumbing. If you add the outdoor shower on to one side of the kitchen, you could have the shower on one side of the wall and a kitchen sink on the other side of the wall.
