Remember when Jorgan was genuinely threatening? He didn’t last too long like that, but even when he cooled off a little after season 1, you would always get the feeling that his presence meant something. He FELT like he was the rule of Law in fairy world, and so whenever he was humiliated, we immediately knew that all of fairy world had it much worse. But by the end, he was just a muscular Cosmo.

Thats one of this shows biggest flaws. There is plenty of good side characters with stories they can go into, but ignore them for new obnoxious characters. Do you remember when Trixie was a secret Tomboy who had alot in common with Timmy? Neither does Butch.

Little fact for those that don't know. In the original pilot shorts for the Fairly Oddparents, Cosmo was actually really smart and witty, and Wanda, while she wasn't dumb like Cosmo is now, she was actually a klutz. Now Wanda and Cosmo are more like...modern sitcom wife and husband characters. (Like Homer and Marge, or Peter and Lois.) If they stuck with their original personalities from the pilot episodes, their chemistry would probably be similar to Linda and Bob from Bob's Burgers.

Well they did say he set the town on fire to avoid going to school so I dont think that qualifies as good intentions. Also he made selfie wishes like Christmas everyday which could've killed Santa from stress, Then he made a new holiday that out Santa outta business cause apparently learning he cant have Christmas everyday didn't work the first time, Then he transformed the town into halloween monsters cause he was jealous and wanted a better costume, He even made a wish to have a better dad.

This special could have changed so much and still be good. Imagine if Timmy did make that no age wish, but instead of 50 years passing by it was instead 4 or 5 years making Timmy a teenager. The secret wish gets undone and Timmy somehow gets back to fairyworld to get his fairies back. After some trials and tribulations that makes Timmy grow as a character, the fairy counsel decides to allow Timmy to have his fairies back and all the wishes except the age wish get restored. So, Timmy would now be a teenager in high school and that would bring new the challenges to the show. Timmy would have to learn how to drive and be more responsible for his actions. Timmy could even get a job.

Here's a plothole I noticed in the episode, Timmy Turnip: So Timmy's grandparents come to visit, and they're from a weird country, called Ustinkastan. Timmy gets sick of them, and so he wishes they had never left Ustinkastan. As a result, Timmy and his family are living there, and it's revealed that the fairy godparents of Ustinkastanian children can only grant wishes that involve turnips-but Poof is still there, and he's his normal self. Seeing as Timmy wished for him, you'd think he'd be a turnip.

Let's also not forget Mark Changs deal on later seasons was him avoiding the marriage of the mad evil princess Mandie, who's is supposed to later result in earth's destruction and a new alien empire with her in charge. So if Timmy's wishes were revoked then Mark would have never gotten away from Mandie, earth will be destroyed as result of that, and now the universe is stuck with basically a female Frieza.

Okay, the biggest sign of The Fairly Oddparents running out of magic (pun intended) is that aside from hearsay and whatnot, I had no idea they even made this special. No commercials on TV, no advertising except for a dull promo, *nothing* signified that this thing existed officially until now. Not even a marathon of Timmy's Dumbest Wishes up to this. And for once, I'm actually not surprised it ended like it did: on some random episode--if they can't even hype up a supposed world-shattering special anymore, how are they keeping the show running without merchandise? Not to mention that they basically decided to make this special because they wanted to explain the floating timeline gimmick two decades after everyone stopped caring.

I actually like this episode, but i agree that it is too long. Well, at least the story of part one is too long. I think it could have been better like that: Episode 1a: Celebrating the 1.000.000 wish, having Foop against Timmy in the court and AFTER 10 minutes he reveals his plan, notices his mistake and then getting unwished. Episode 1b: Old Timmy learning about fairys from Crocker + a Cosmo & Wanda subplot Episode 2a: The Timmy crew trying to find Poof and fighting against some bad unwished wishes Episode 2b: Timmy sacrificing himself, the fairy council turns everything back to normal and then they could show Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda & Poof having a good time together while knowing that this time will end in some years. It actually could have been a very good series finale, but now it's like a nice try. However season 8 was the last tolerable.

Season 8 was in some extent better than seasons 9 and 10, but it was pretty forgettable since it had very few episodes compared to seasons 1-7 and seasons 9 and 10, also season 8 of FOP was premiered when season 7 of FOP was still airing.

To be honest, the "plot twist" where Timmy secretly wished for everyone to stop aging is actually kind of clever and makes sense, at least in terms of the show. It's a shame that they didn't put in a better special, or, better yet, what should've been the final episode.

Truth be told; I actually wanted THIS to be the series finale. Sure it was bad, but at least it provided a believable out for the entire series; why it's been going on endlessly forever with no change. And it also goes to show exactly WHY Timmy can't lose his fairies, because someone's existence depends on it... Plus, bringing up every wish that Timmy has made, gave it a kind of sense of finality to the entire thing.

Or as I call it "Wishology Neutured". Instead of hyping this special with a journey across Dimmsdale and beyond, you just make Truth Or Square with Timmy that "everything is gonna change." Now Wishology isn't a perfect special, but it at least made people satisfied even if that wasn't the end of the series. This special is just taping togethor characters and concepts that would've been alright as their own, but executed haphazardly that you just wish that this special was a secret.

I think you explained it perfectly well Jay, this is why I dislike this show after Season 5 (and even then Season 5 started showing problems too being the weakest of the Pre Poof Era) while it wasn't directly Poof, Foop, Chloe or Sparky, it was still underwhleming on its own merits. I know a few people might consider Poof a pass, but to me I don't hate Poof himself it's just when you look at the bigger picture he didn't add anything to the show. He didn't change the dynamic (in fact I kinda like the dynamic of Cosmo and Wanda being parents for Timmy due to his actual parents negligence) and the writing seemed to spark once they started throwing plots around him and the others by extension. Sure Season 6 is fine because Poof was introduced there, and for the first few episodes it did seem as Timmy could've developed more responsibly, but it was more or less dropped into just being the baby Wanda takes care of. After Season 7 he basically becomes irrelevant, as he's either absent or serves no purpose he's just there for the most part (aside from this special in the 2nd half). This is more noticable with Season 9, as once Sparky came along Poof seemed to no longer have a purpose. Then was dropped entirely during Season 10 aside from 1 episode. Foop gets it worse than Poof, by that I mean he becomes overplayed at the expense of the other Anti Fairies and later seasons seems to be the only one who exists. (Anti Cosmo was one of the best villains that could've been used more but wasn't) Though I do agree Seasons 6 and 7 were nearly as bad as the ones that came after. This special also combines all he problems Modern FOP episodes have, forced jokes to pad out the run time (such as forcing in characters with no real purpose, Cosmo's increasing loss of Brain stigmas, contrived plot points (such as the aformentioned Foop not knowing the most basic rule of an Anti Fairy despite being an Anti Fairy) the plot that Timmy is all of a sudden the worst Godkid, despite previous episodes showing prior, having the character just explain something that should've been clear from the start as a way of convenience, made up rules on the spot just to move the plot forward. This special is very frustrating indeed. I've very curious to see how you tackle more of this show, Seasons 9 and 10 are unbearable.

Theory: THIS was supposed to be the 10th anniversary special for Fop 2001-2011 but nickelodeon decided to make the live action movie the official anniversary movie instead. This also explains why this episode had so many call backs to older episodes, involved a major character celebrating a milestone (1,000,000th wish), and have the main character reveal to aged in a what if scenario. These are all things that usually happen in Nicktoons that celebrate their 10th anniversary. Blues clues celebrated his birthday, Rugrats had a “what if they were teenagers” scenario, Dora decided to go around the world, and spongebob celebrated the anniversary of the Krusty Krab. All those specials were about an hour long. So it makes sense that this would be Fop’s anniversary special.

Man, this special was weird. And also, one of the most wasted potential ones ever. Literally, I can't remember much that happened in this special lol. I didn't even know there was an opening song. That's a bad sign imho. Tbh, I feel like FOP has went mediocre after POOF went into the picture. It didn't necessarily go full downhill, but I can tell something did change. Idk what. Maybe the characters became too flanderized to an obnoxious degree, maybe the stories felt not as original to me. But, something did change. It just feels, less clever. And by Season 10, I felt pity that a show I really respected, turned into mediocrity. At least Spongebob is doing something people like currently. FOP never did get that chance. Maybe it was for the best FOP got cancelled.

I would've loved The Big Fairy Share Scare with Tootie in it, as a well written special where, being in on the secret, (because we all know it's weird Tootie doesn't have her own fairies given that she has to LIVE with Vicky) Timmy and Tootie are forced to come to an understanding with one another, talk about how they'd jointly protect the secret and learn deeper facts about one another. Timmy learns that Tootie is more than just a geeky girl with a crush on him, and Tootie learns that Timmy has flaws outside of what she sees everyday at school, or something along those lines. Really, I just don't care at all for Chloe.

One of my favorite performances from Cosmo is in Fairy Idol where he sung against ( or with?) the Genie. It was random, silly, but impactful. Timmy and Wanda didn't want The Genie to win, and Cosmo, *COSMO* comes to save the day with his new singing voice. One of the very few times he actually helps instead of being dumb and in the way. How the mighty have fallen.

If they were going to make a special reviewing all of Timmy's wishes, it would have been better if they actually played wishes from REAL episodes and not stuff pulled out of the writer's asses. The best thing about Seasons 1-4 FOP is that Timmy made wishes and did things for good intentions that real 10-year old kids would actually make - like being a great skateboarder, or having cool clothes and being popular, or it being Christmas everyday, or that his parents would let him do whatever he wants. Later on, Timmy's wishes got more and more absurd, to the point where they had to completely ruin the things that mattered just to get a cheap laugh. Dare I say, this is to FOP what "The Principal and the Pauper" is for the Simpsons? Where they completely change a character's backstory for ratings? Kids are supposed to relate to the characters and learn real lessons, not go on dumb adventures and add pointless tension in order to continue production of a once proud Nick giant. And now I've learned Fairly Odd Parents added an asshole dog to the show (who apparently had adult owners even though he's a fairy dog and adults aren't supposed to know about fairies), and a Mary Sue girl who gets to share Cosmo and Wanda with Timmy??? They should have ended this after the 3rd Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour. Every character has become so flanderized, it's not worth watching no matter your age.

What kinda pains me about the downfall of this series is how seemingly in denial Butch Hartman is of how bad his production had become. I can respect the man for the love and passion he has for his creations, but I feel like he seems to be one who never acknowledge criticisms (unless it involved a paycheck). I've occasionally watched some of his uploads and he's always shooting out dad jokes and bits of gospel. It's like he really means well, but his actions and decisions had/have become misguided (possibly because of the money), but that's just my take on it. I have no clue what's up with Christianity and bad animation. I assume Saberspark has the answer to that :P

To be honest with you I met Butch Hartman and real life at comic con and he's such a nice guy I didn't buy anything from him as I was waiting for my friend to get done doing his stuff with Cosmo and Wanda VAS. but I asked him what it was like to create all the things he did and how he did it and the way he spoke was very interesting. I believe this show was a great series, but he just got bored and wanted to see what all he might of been able to get away with. Because rewatching some of this show as an adult, you know he would never get with these jokes today.

Marks planet isn’t so much as everything is the opposite, it’s more up to opposite interests. For example humans tend to like clean areas whiles marks planet prefers filth. We value in a sense a type of kindness with our partners while mark values … well Vicky . What Foop should’ve said “since the love of your life is possibly the worst human being ever (vicky) shouldn’t your best friend Timmy be close to that list of worst people.” Ik it’s not true but I feel like that that would’ve been a more convincing dialogue for show.

What did *_I_* think of Timmy's Secret Wish? I think it was the point of no return for Fairly Odd Parents. Not because it was the worst thing ever, but because of what it led to, in terms of quality. If Timmy's Secret Wish was just a one-off special and ended there, it would have been one thing. It would have still sucked as a special, but at least we would have the rest of the series. But they just *_had_* to keep going afterward. >_< This show REALLY should have ended after Wishology. Even if you didn't like the trilogy [I personally did], at least there was finality to it.

Good lord, that whole thing about Timmy wishing that nobody aged was basically one gigantic plot hole. Nobody has aged and the world is basically in stasis for half a century, and NOBODY NOTICES?!! Speaking of plot holes, how the hell do you get to one million wishes? If Timmy made a wish a day for an entire life of a hundred years, he would still only have gotten to a third of that! And considering the limited time a kid has their fairies, if you give Timmy about ten years (and even that is clearly too long), he would have to be making hundreds of wishes a day, one every five minutes or so, night and day every day of those ten years to get to a million. And as reckless as Timmy can get making wishes, I highly doubt he makes that many.
