Won for "Best Adapted Screenplay." But don't ever expect him to win for best picture or best director, even if he gets 6 more Black directors as Academy members to vote for him.

Spike you are an extremely talented director. Does not matter if you win an oscar or not. That movie Miracle at St. Anne was a Master piece. People don't even know about that movie it's also a true story. Just goes to show how prejudice the Oscars are. That movie as well as some of your other works should have been well advertised, just like they advertise their movies, even their horrible movies get overly advertised. They are afraid of your talent. Would love to have you produce the first Black Sherif Bass Reeves movie, also a true story.

Stop the trolling. Spike Lee is an icon in his own right. He paid his dues in Hollywood and is very deservant of an Oscar. And anything you say doesn't matter because he's still going to sleep well at night and do what he loves, by making movies/shows thats influence the human conscious mind. Cheers to him.

I agree Spike Lee is a great director, and I do hope he gets an Oscar, but it's all in the timing, or I should say Hollywood timing as to what movies come out and when they come out. All of Spikes Lee's movies are fantastic, but when the Oscar nominees are chosen, it's not only about how great the movie is and how great the director, actors, etc, etc are, it's about ratings too... AND when great movies come out at the same time, it's difficult to choose who to give it too. I do hope Spike gets his Oscar for Best Director, maybe in the future plan your movie to come out when not so many other great movies are on the list... just an opinion... Good Luck Spike Lee, I think you might just get it this year ~~

I will most likely never watch BK, especially because that terrifically mediocre movie Black Panther has been nominated.
