Ultimately these rioters are not helping. The reverse actually. They see themselves as the hippies of their day but they miss one very important point. I am a strong proponent of existing communities being improved to have more housing built including walkable and transit-oriented places instead of entirely new communities being built especially in area where transit is not just poor but will affect the Travis Air Force Base, agricultural lands will be gobbled up, water consumption will increase, and the economies of the surrounding communities nearby will decline. Traffic on I-80 which already is bad as a result of more suburban developments will worsen ten times more. This proposed city absolutely has to be voted down with those Silicon Valley billionaires selling the lands and using the concepts of their proposed city to instead redevelop the areas around the VTA Light Rail stations which are sprawling office parks, strip malls, and gigantic lots (parking or undeveloped lands) which believe it or not is one of the main reasons why the system itself has poor ridership and if that happens I will consider supporting the company.
