A spotless Rose is blowing
Sprung from a tender root,
Of ancient seers' foreshowing,
Of Jesse promised fruit;
Its fairest bud unfolds to light

And in the dark midnight.
The Rose which I am singing,
Whereof Isaiah said,
Is from its sweet root springing
In Mary, purest Maid;
For through our God's great love and might

I don't know how to say this. It might be the composition, or the arrangement, the sheer quality of the musicians, the acoustics of the auditorium or my new headphones. I heard every single note of that performance in each of the parts and hung transfixed on everyone. Moved and humbled and uplifted in less minutes.
