A "Staked" Three-Legged Stool: Woodturning a Plant Stand

I made a three-legged plant stand out of Cherry and Maple using staked furniture techniques. I used a lathe to turn the seat and the legs and bored holes at the drill press. I wedged the tenons to secure them into the seat mortises.

I watch a lot of woodworking on KZbin but I’ve always loved your channel for the artistic and relaxed nature of the videos while still imparting lots of woodworking knowledge. I am still in the process of working on that timberframe. I had stalled when I got to a point I needed some lifting equipment to tackle it by myself but I think I've sourced some duct lifts to help me. I was going to do a series on the timberframe but it's a big job for just one guy so I opted to just get to work. I might do a tour of it when I'm done and break down the joinery of how I did everything.

I also really enjoyed Ingenious Mechanicks which has a lot of historical information about staked workbenches. I'm still waiting for the 5/8 tapered reamer to come back in stock at Lee Valley... :P

Provided you're comfortable with it, obviously, I would love to learn more about it and see more timber framing type projects if it's possible, in addition to the normal projects that we have come to love from you. I would love to do a timberframe video. That's probably pretty far down the road as I've got some ongoing projects I need to finish up on the homestead first before I start any new ones.
