i really like these indepth explanations of how and why. brings much more immersion into the sim when you actually know why you do certain things and not just because somebody told you to. for example the battery. i only knew they had to be at least 25.5V and my assumption was only ever that it had something to do something with (battery needs at least this voltage to be able to operate certain items), but not that it something to do with calculated emergency exit time. Or that the weatherradio can just toast itself when infront of a flat surface, like a terminal. although that might be expensive in case it would happen it is still better to toast itself than people in front of the aircraft. its basically a huge microwave. 😂

This is excellent. For someone just beginning on the a320 and starting to do the procedure, this explanation gives added depth to understanding. Your comments as to real world procedures brings it to life. What is also very helpful is your clear and slow diction. Many people talk so fast in a effort to show their knowledge. Yours is evident in the way you show your care, in not only saying what needs to be done, but why. Hopefully you will make it into a progressive series. Being short videos allows me to assimilate what you are giving. Many thanks.

This was great! I also really enjoyed your videos on external lighting and APU. The explanation why procedures are designed the way they are makes it more interesting and far easier to memorise. I dream of becoming a pilot for an airline with a white cross in its logo, and I guess you might be flying for them, so this is exactly what I would like more of. Besides, your presentation is top notch. To the point and very likable!

Hello again!! Amazing video with incredible explanations, as always!! This time I would like to suggest a video talking about the one engine taxi procedure. I always wanted to know in which cases it is used and why. Also If possible, explaining the intriquets of the procedure, when and how we should do it in the sim, and if there are any noticeable differences between the A320 family planes and its engine types CFM, IAE, NEO. Thank you so much for your videos, we learn a lot from them!

Would it be bad if you would first turn on the ext pwr and then the batteries?
@fsclipsАй бұрын
No, not really. It is just that Airbus says you switch on the batteries first and then the ground power, and when you power down you do the same in the opposite order. I am sure there is a technical reason for it, but we don´t get told every single technical background. Probably not a bad thing to be honest 😁
@leightonthompson3629Ай бұрын
Can you do a guide on what you do when you take over from an aircraft that has already been powered on by a previous crew or engineering? I always start my aircraft from a powered on state, because its my understanding that its rare that pilots have to completely start an aircraft. What systems do you still need to test again, what systems do you verify?
@fsclipsАй бұрын
Good idea. If an aircraft is taken over by a previous crew there are certain things that don´t need to be done again. Also, if you do a turn around there are certain checks that don´t need to be done.
@leightonthompson3629Ай бұрын
@@fsclips And that is exactly the insight I would love to get! What does and doesn't need to be checked? Maybe there are systems that are meant to be turned off and turned back on again. I dont know, I'm just a sim pilot but your videos are so valuable to those of us who like to get it right.
@fsclipsАй бұрын
@@leightonthompson3629 I will put this on my list. Maybe we can discuss how a turn around works in the real world and what needs to be checked. We have an abbreviated check/list for turn arounds. I will go through that. Thanks for the feedback

When do you use “crank” on the starter? And what is it for?
@fsclips22 күн бұрын
@@yooturboo We use the crank to do a dry crank with the engine to remove fuel vapor after an unsuccessful engine start on the ground. You move the engine mode selector to crank and use the manual engine start function to do so. I have only ever had to do this once. Hope this helps
