Very informative info! thanks! quick question- We had ordered Samples from China and it was sent by DHL air freight and we didn't provide EORI but then DHL asked us to pay Tax/VAT online which we did and it was delivered to us within a week or so. Now we are ordering the actual consignment and again going to use DHL route so our question is this time do we have to have EORI number? or this can be delivered the way samples were delivered and we pay tax/VAT to DHL? what is the best way? please advise?

Hi Khawar, At this instance I am assuming your goods will be delivered directly to your address? When the goods reach the airport, the air freight company will contact you to pay duty etc. Once it's paid, the goods will be delivered to you.

Hello Manoj Most of the products do not need a Food License. It depends on what you are importing. Eg:- If you Import Rice over 1000kgs, then you need a Licence, but in general spices, groceries doesn't need. Yes, you can obtain an EORI number if you are a sole trader business, and have a virtual office address. EORI is used by customs to track shipments coming in and out of the EU.

You will have to search for terms that your products will be called as. Eg:- Switch, Fuse etc. Here's what I found when I searched ok their website www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/headings/8535. You will have to see which electrical appliances matches to what your product is. Hope it helps

Hi Ana If you are looking store the goods here and distribute in the UK, you will need space in the warehouse. Else if you are sending it straight from EU to 1 customer, then you wouldn't need. It can be sent straight to the customers warehouse

Hi Esha If it's just samples in small quantities, you can definitely bring it under your personal name. Only thing to make sure is it gets delivered to your home address. As you might not be able to clear it at the airport. So better to double check with your freight forwarder or courier
