Irish dancing goes much farther back than just 100 years, but back to the early Celts and Druid religious circle dances that had a lot of step sequences. Maybe 2,000 year history there.

I think this is more an exhibition on the Gaelic League and their contributions to preserving the culture. Also, they're documenting the competition aspects, with medals, the feis, the fleadh cheoil, etc. And the first fleadh was only about 200 years ago, if I'm not mistaken...as far as I know! That's still a lot of history right there.

We had some of musical instruments from Ireland, the violin, guitar, accordion and harmonica and using the spoons. I am not sure the spoons were from Irish/Scots...It is to my knowledge, that we were from Ulster Plantation and narrators on these historic reviews are saying that Henry VIII is the one to have Ulster Plantation built and it is not true. According to my family tree, they show the Stuarts/Stewarts were responsible for the Ulster Plantation. TY PAL-J
