Ingeborg, You are always such a joy to watch! I adore your sense of humor and it goes without saying that your stitching is beautiful. I also enjoy that you include topics other than cross stitch into your videos. I believe that we should never stop learning so I would happily watch videos from you about Myer Briggs. I hope that you have a lovely retreat holiday. Safe travels and happy stitching! Suzette x

Hi Ingeborg, I somehow missed this video earlier. How wonderful that you sought out some books about U.S. history before your trip. I hope it added to your enjoyment of the museums and other places you visited. I really enjoyed hearing about the books and I would enjoy the Myers Briggs topic too. As always, I love all your stitching and want to stitch everything you are stitching :-). Miss you & hope it is not too dark in the NL.

Interesting. I stumbled upon you this morning, and when you mentioned the Netherlands, all I could think of was that I traced my grandfather’s lineage back to the Netherlands! I was in your country for an afternoon on a layover to Rome- time enough to see the Ann Frank museum and a quick trip to see windmills and tulips and cheese! Your country is gorgeous! It seems you like nonfiction. I enjoy historical fiction and as such love the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Enjoy your holidays!

Hi Judy, thanks for leaving such a nice comment. I must say i do enjoy historical fiction so I will have a look at Outlander, i'm mainly reading non-fiction right now because I like to prepare for my holiday :)

Very enjoyable video Ingeborg. Wow! I am impressed that you listened to American history. It’s such a convoluted history in the grand scheme of the world. I love your boyfriend and all of the pieces you are working on. Your nail color is beautiful and I’m loving the matte top coat. I’ve noticed that as the year begins to wind down, and the season changes, many people are becoming introspective and retrospective. Briggs is very interesting. Thanks for sharing and happy stitching 🧵

It was for me really nice to get a refresher of the US history in a short amount of time, there were some great moments and some not so great and it was interesting to see patterns and draw lines to our current time (i say interesting but it was also scary at times to see how history is repeating itself) xx

@@AStitchTooFar It seems like we (as a species) don't seem to learn from collective mistakes - maybe it's just that we become apathetic and think that someone else will take care of it - very sad and yes - very scary.

Wow Ingeborg, stitching your lover on the same fabric on your husband. You're a bold woman! Thanks for sharing your WIPs, almost finishes, and your haul with us. I'd be very interested in those other videos. Thanks also for sharing you readings with us. You are definitely a history buff. I tried to read about the Underground Railroad but had a tough time with the subject matter, so instead I chose to read about Harriet Tubman, and ended up doing my research paper on her because she was such a fascinating person. In fact, she reminded me a lot of my grandmother, Jemima. They were both very strong women who had to be that way to survive. Enjoy your travels and Happy Stitching!

Great stitching Ingeborg! I hear you on the fear of not packing what was planned, I tend to check my bags 5 times before each trip and still forget something ☺️. Regarding Myer Briggs I think that could become very interesting. I hadn’t heard about this before and just made the test... it is crazy how accurate the description is after only answering a few questions... But now I sit here and ask myself: What can I do with that knowledge? Happy stitching my friend, Dunja 😘 P.S.: Love your nailpolish
@AStitchTooFar5 жыл бұрын
Yeah the online test is nice but I had much more use in diving in a bit deeper, there is a whole theorie on functions use associated with each type that should help out in figuring out your blind spots and how to deal with that. Will try and incorporate that into the videos once I get to them :) If you can't wait I'd suggest looking up function stack and the 8 functions. xx

Lover and husband on the same fabric? Naughty! The Needles Prayse is absolutely stunning and I have loved your progress on it. Which retreat are you going to? Will there be another Dutch retreat? I would love to stitch with you, Mev, Meike and Jucus! I can thoroughly recommend Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series....a story of the Jacobite Rebellion and the creation of America through the Revolution. It is fiction , though beautifully researched and a dream to read 😍

Hoi Ingeborg. Groetjes, Alice
@AStitchTooFar5 жыл бұрын

The Underground Railroad is commonly used here in USA when referring to escaped slaves and those who participated in providing safe travel and rest spots to assist the slaves to reach Canada.
@AStitchTooFar5 жыл бұрын
Yes that's why I was confused, I know it's just a name and not an actual railroad, but in the book it is described as an actual railroad.

Love your new lover, the turtle. But on the same fabric as your husband?? I'm also a history buff. Did you happen to see the PBS series by Ken Burns on the Civil War? It's so well done, especially with Shelby Foote's commentary throughout. ( I could listen to that man speak on any subject) He's author of a 1-3 box set on the Civil War or a 9 book series. I'd be interested in the Briggs Meyer videos. Have a wonderful time on your journey to the US. Where does this retreat take place?

Beautiful stitching! I would love a Meyers Brigg series! I just finished listening to Into Thin Air by John Krakaur. True story about the deadliest year for climbers on Everest. A little slow at the beginning, but becomes quite the thrilling ride! Not really anything to do with American history, lol

Your 2 nd husband will look just beautiful when finished...love the colors!! You are right..the dark background will show off threads and stitching...like they always use black to show off jewelry!! I have 1/2 of a top row done on Praise the Needle...love it, but OTHER PATTERNS😏🙄😌
@AStitchTooFar5 жыл бұрын
oh I hadn't thought of that but you're so right about the jewelry! It took me about two years I think to get Praise (almost) done, but once I was halway through the verse I really didn't want to put it down. :)
