Gentleman named Dennis Dockery owned the building. He has or had a house behind the shop across Joe Brown Hwy where that heavy equipment is sitting. Dennis’s mother owned and lived in that little white house just past the caution light.

Born & raised in Hangingdog! I love it!! ❤️ It actually goes on down to Hangingdog Baptist Church… the swimming hole, etc.

I used to pass this building every day on my way home until about a month ago. I wanted to rent the little white house right across the street. It's kinda surreal seeing this building even after I've moved away. I remember when it was open they used to have fresh produce.

That’s really cool. Would have loved to have seen it when it was up and running.

The last time I was in that store was in 2008 we came to hanging dog campground and stayed there till they shut the trail system down in tellico. We came to the smoky mountain Jeep run for 13 years straight this was our family vacation spot. What a shame we’ve never been back

I bet that was fun. I haven’t checked out the campground yet.

I was born and raised there and moved from there in 1995 and i use to stop there and i think it closed in 2000 and hanging dog camp ground is right down the road and you got grape creek community down there too and i like the marble courthouse there and the old jail use to be right behind it
