my grandmother, Reathel Patterson Vitelli used to shop this Piggly Wiggly when she took care of my great grandmother, Minnie Patterson. My great grandfather worked mining the copper. There is a book called "Ducktown Smoke" by Robert B. Outland Ducktown smoke : the fight over one of the South's greatest environmental disasters. Many of my high school summers spent in Turtletown and we would go to Ducktown to shop. They are about 10 miles apart. Thanx for taking me back in time.

in high school (80s) many of my summer vacations were spent in Turtletown, Tn. My mom's mom was originally from this area. My grandmother met my grandfather in this area when he worked for the CCCs (Civilian Conservation Corp). They eloped and her husband was originally from NJ. So they moved back to NJ. My family was the Minnie Patterson family. Minnie was my great grandmother. My grandmother took care of her mother when she had broken her hip. It has been so many years since I have been in Turtletown, we would go visit my grandmother and great grandmother over the summer. Now, I am going to check out your Ducktown video, which is about 10 miles up the road from Turtletown.

My grandparents owned a farm a mile or so from there. Rode my bike across that dam many times. My grad dad and uncle were in an old photo fishing encased there. They renovated years ago and the picture was removed.

PETA never really protects animals anyways! They just cleverly market the organization, making people think they care so much about the welfare of animals and beg out more money

Hey, I just subscribed. II loved it when you said you were a sucker for old brickwork and don't know why. I totally get it. I love to look at that and old wrought iron fences and gates. Stonework is amazing. I love watching videos of the UK because their villages are so old . Hundreds of years. amazing. We want to move to a smaller town in Eastern TN. Bristol, Johnson ciity. Somewhere that is not too quiet and has an old downtown with charm. I'm talking 40 to 50,000 people. Do you know of any. I also like Elizabethan TN but not sure if it has enough happening. I don't want to have to drive 30 minutes to civilization.

You should travel to Newport, TN. I lived there for 17 years, went to school in Cosby, TN 12 miles from Newport. You should go up on the Foothills Parkway. I think it's the 2nd overlook is the view of the school.

Turtletown is approximately 25 minutes from Blue Ridge Ga and 30 minutes from Murphy NC. Turtletown is 15 minutes from Copper Hill Tennessee. Taxes on 5 acres and a small cabin is around $120 per year. Utilities are affordable. Firewood is plenteous and it’s a nice quiet place to live.
