Very respectful of the previous occupants , the bones of this gem seem very well preserved for the age , what’s the silkworm history and the blackness ( paint or singe with blow torch) Project looks a great one to have saved

Overall, this is sure to be a fascinating renovation project. Thank you for sharing! That ceiling work was beautiful. The openness, and dark wood, restored the vintage feeling of that space. It’s also fun to see an owner joining the physical effort. No doubt they will appreciate the finished work even more.

I noticed the old electricity wiring. Here in the US it is called “knob and tube”. It looks the same. Bare wire running insulator to insulator. Folks say it can still work, but me? I prefer insulated wiring! 🤷‍♂️
