Hello guys and welcome to my channel! A straight razor shave - part 2.
I have done it again guys! Could not help it and I got a straight razor. Not a shavette, but a real straight razor. What can I say...It is BEAUTIFUL! Totally different then a shavette. Way better in my opinion. The razor it's from DOVO Solingen - Dovo Special. Amazing work of art. And it's SHARP! 😎🪒

Nice shave vid just a idea tie a small string loop to the top of the strop then you can put that loop on your door handle so that you don’t have metal on metal contact and the strop will be a lot tighter on the door handle as well. 👍🏻 Thanks again Back

There are not that many items of 100 or more years old that you can use today and that are better than modern equivalents. "Good old days" relates to shaving 100%. There is something really special about a 100 year old razor in good condition.

Yes there is 😉 the trick is that they are hard to find. I was looking for vintage straight razors and straight razors...but couldn’t find any, or they are super expensive 🤷‍♂️ Do you know some places that are selling vintage razors? Thx 😉

@@AlexShavesReviews I get mine from ebay. NOS (new old stock) are ridiculously pricey but you can get a decent one from time to time, maybe with a bit of patina that you can polish off. Then you need to pay for sharpening or do it yourself.... Look out for brands like Dorko, Puma, Ern, Wade and Butcher etc etc. As I've promised I can send you one for a test shave and review. I'm in Cheeseland so not so far away.

Congratulations for your videos Alex. You can see how the blade is hooked. That razor needs a lot more work with the leather at least 20 more passes on each side. All the best!
