That’s why I try not to assume the worst when I notice students taking extra snacks. It’s frustrating when I’m sure there’s some who are taking advantage, but I don’t know the circumstances and I want to believe they have reason for taking an extra snack or two

It’s good to hear there are teachers like this, because when I was little my family never packed me a lunch and my fourth grade teacher was upset with me because I’d ask for emergency lunch almost every other day. Like, i’m eight. No one taught me how to pack my lunch yet, it’s not my fault. haha.

@ some kids genuinely do things like take extra snacks for the express purpose of being mean or disrespecting authority. It’s normal for teens. It just sucks when it leaves no snacks left for people who need it since snacks come out of teacher’s own money.

One time I was starving myself and ended up getting extremely hungry and couldn’t bear anymore. I was in class and I hadn’t given myself any snack and we had a while before lunch. My stomach was growling. None of my friends ever had snacks and I was getting lightheaded I asked my teacher if he had anything and he gave me an entire bag of popcorn. It was his personal snack, but he gave it to me that day and I am so grateful I had a going away party for my friend that I threw and the teacher was there because it was during lunch in his classroomand I made carrot cake which is his favorite and my favorite and the only cake I can eat and I let him have the last piece as a thank you for the popcorn
