Nope it’s luka. He was the best player in the series by a mile and that’s who ultimately wins a game 7. There’s a ceiling on how far the suns can go as long as they depend so much on a 37 year old Chris Paul. He will invariably wear down at the end of a long playoff run. Next year he will be 38. The way forward for suns is for book to improve as a playmaker off of traps and double teams. He needs to have a bigger impact on the game than just scoring because that is too easy to take away the way J kidd did. Next step in his progression is hurting teams for double teaming and trapping the way luka does.

Kobe learned how to master that hockey assist. Book needs to learn how to absorb that double team and make hockey assist passes. I saw this coming in the last two weeks of the Suns season. When Memphis' second team scorched the Suns, and when the Thunder scored them, they demonstrated this tendency of not taking games very seriously, or, "going through the motions." I said in earlier posts, that the Suns never had close losses. All of their losses were ugly and showed a pitiful performance from the majority of the players. But what shocked me is how bad our STARS did!! Booker, Paul and Ayton STRUGGLED to get ANYTHING going, and they got some good looks. The shots were ALWAYS OFF in their losses. With other series (example, Boston v. Milwaukee, or Golden State v. Memphis) you saw some really close games that it was anyone's game. Never with the Suns. What a frustrating way for fans to watch a perfectly capable team only show up every once in a while.

I think both are true. Luka was incredible and the suns choked a bit but it really was Luka who took the game by the horns from the buzzer scored the first 8 for the mavs and they never trailed after that. Book needs to get better as a passer no doubt. He’s the best shooting guard in the league and is first team All-NBA. No one on the team showed up tonight. Suns have to learn from this loss and inspect internally. Game 7 wasn’t even close. We quit. Most embarrassing performance I’ve watched as a fan.

Luka has a history of playing his best and giving his teammates a chance to win a game 7. After this game today, its official that LUKA has arrived to the next level of a true superstar. Im just glad Dinwiddie finally had his breakout game as we have been looking for since this series. The Mavs are a three headed monster with Luka, JB & Dinwiddie with the other defensive players who know their roles as they too can score from outside because Luka can penetrate and dish out to the open guys.

I’ve never seen a great team fold in game 7 like Phoenix did last night, and make no mistake they were a great team. A loss like that is not only embarrassing, but franchise trajectory altering. It will be interesting to see how Monty benching Ayton will affect the contract negotiations this summer for him. The sad part about this game is that the Suns will not be remembered for being the dominant basketball machine they were for 99% of the year; instead because of the lack of fight and energy they had to start a game 7, and he way they quit in the 1Q, we will remember them as punk front runners who gave up when things got tough. Tough look for CP0 not being able to score, create, defend, or even be a leader when the franchise needed him most.

The main reason you got stomped is because the suns rely on a 37 year old vet that’s about to dip to take them to the promised land. Booker has never had a winning season or even a good season when he was the ball handler. It took Rubio and eventually cp3 to carve a path for this team. CP3 was left to guard luka way too much and got beat up. Worked for 2 games but that sht bit the Suns in the ass at it took cp3 out of the series. The main reasons you guys lost was because of Monty’s refusal to limit cp3 and play him in spurts… and because Booker and Ayton never stepped up to the plate. Ayton going against Powell should have been a target all night long. Booker should have been a lot better as I saw this series being him vs luka. All that trash talk just to backfire. Booker is a premiere scorer. But Luka is a cut above him… it’s the mentality that’s elite. Booker just doesn’t have that. Relies too much on cp3’s gravity to get going.

Let's not give the Mavs credit for creating the matchups on the floor during play and forcing Booker and Paul to play the way they wanted them to play. Neither had space because the Mavs forced that.
