49:45, no way! You do not talk too much Adam! I know which YT channels you're referencing about videos with no sound except the tools and the parts clicking together nicely. I love those videos for what they are, there's something cathartic about listening only to the sounds of the craft being performed. But... I primarily watch these types of videos to LEARN and you are an excellent teacher. You speak clearly, with a good cadence, and you provide excellent narration about what you're doing, what affect it has on relational components, and why it's important to do one thing vs. another. And your videos, closeups, and cuts are primo. Definitely a 10 out of 10 from me on your tutelage!

@@thegrassyknoll7792 Um, sure? I wasn't endorsing one vs. the other. My comment clearly states that I like this channel's instructional method. I learn from it. I am also entertained by it. That's it. Nothing to read in or out of my comment.

I agree this channel is great, if I could do what he does, I'd definitely talk people through the work. He's right about background noise, youtube will catch any familiar sound and copyright you, but speeding up the videos are how I get past it because working in dead silence is weird, haha.

Really nice looking watch, can't go wrong with orange and black in my opinion...a lot of the 6100s look quite dated now, but that one's still very wearable. I also really enjoyed the tie-in with the Who, very cool to have some _heritage_ to it!

Great watch! I used to have a varient of this, made by Seiko, with a Seiko movement but branded Le Gant, I sold it in one of those moments of trying to reduce the too many watches I have and raising a bit of money. I've got a quartz lookalike now, Curren brand, great for £10.00 or whatever it was.

Hey Adam, I've been watching your channel for awhile and I love watching and listening to you work your craft. I just noticed (and heard about on this video) your tools list in the video description. Just wanted to say thank you very much for that list. That's very generous of you to take the time to put together such a comprehensive list for everyone to use. I am just getting started in this hobby (just dipped my big toe into the pool so far) and this list is exceedingly helpful, especially with the lubricants! Also, excellent explanation of the balance spring complete compatibility issue with this watch. I was able to follow what you were saying and it made perfect sense, even to a noob! Much appreciated and keep up the excellent work. Cheers!

Nice work, although I think that the bigger problem with the 17 jewel versions of the 61 (and 63) series movements is the lack of jewels for the third and fourth wheel, rather than the barrel. This one didn't seem worn at all though.

Hi , ive got to say ive watched this now three times. I kinda like you I just loved this watch on seeing it for the first time. I got this watch Christmas 1970. I was in high school and I was on the swimming team. On day at practice I noticed the arm that had the watch on it was kind riding lower in the water so I took the watch off and dropped it in the deep end of the pool. After practice i went home and left the watch in the bottom. Some time later i was looking for the watch and I was panicking to figure what I did with it. Finally I realized what I did with it. The next practice I dove in the pool and went right to the bottom and there it was laying. I put it on my wrist and kept it on until after I got back to my room. I kinda walked away from it. In 1975 i enlisted in the Air Force until 1979. I had left the watch at the family home. Ive never been to much of a jewelry person. Then I moved to AZ to go to college i moved all my stuff from the east coast to AZ. On June 27 of 97 i was going to start swimming again and i have no idea why but I put the watch on and went to start my swimming routine again. While swimming I had the same trouble with the arm that the watch was on once again i had same trouble that I had while in high school and once again I dropped it to the bottom of the pool. I payed on the bottom with the orange face facing up. Every lap i could see the watch laying on the bottom. The pool in high school as no where near as deep as the one in college. The college pool was 8 feet. So again every lap i swam i could see it laying on the bottom. As soon as I finished I dove to the bottom and put the watch back on and went home. The watch has never been serviced since it was new.

Wonderful work as usual & just keep on doing you ,it's natural and it works . That movement is uncannily the same as the current Orient F6922 even down to the balance complete ,tho i'm no fanboy it's obviously testament to the Seiko 6106-7107 to be producing a "modern" equivalent in its guise , i see now why i've always felt it performs generally better than its nh35 counterpart although under the same ES umbrella of recent years .Old Seiko's.... that's where the love is or began ,i get it , i dunno maybe i am a closet fanboi 🤔😉.

I love orange and green watch dials, they're 2 of the coolest colors you can get. I have realized however that both of these colors are something I like looking at more than actually wearing. I bought my 1st seiko and went with a green dial model, but soon found myself wishing I had bought something with a black pearl or white dial that can go well with basically any type or color of band / strap I'd want to put on it. I discovered that I'd rather have one everyday watch that I can put different straps on and maybe 1 special occasion watch instead of wearing a different watch all the time. If I wanted to have a bunch and could afford it, I'd absolutely have a Seiko with an orange dial in my collection. It may not be the choice for a one watch kinda guy, but I can certainly appreciate how cool it looks.

One extra comment if I may... I own a a Seiko 7005, bought it new while serving in the USAF. I wonder why Seiko didn't have a wind function. Maybe I don't move around too much but my watch stops running during the early hours. But having a wind would really help. Could it be a cost issue?

I have a couple Uncle Seiko replacement bracelets - totally agree. QQ - how do you find what the correct missing screw is, and source it?
@WeekendWatchRepair
@WeekendWatchRepair 2 ай бұрын
The manuals for these movements provide the part numbers for the screws. You can cross reference that part number and see if any other movements share the exact same screw, which in my case I had a donor movement with the correct screw.

Hello I found your channel watching the cleaning of you cleaning & give away of Hamilton watch. I have my Grandfathers 14k gold Hamilton Thin-O-Matic retirement watch from Oldsmobile 1968. It had gotten wet the stem had fell out. My wife took it to a local jewelers to see if they could fix & clean. They said they would send it out, should be 50 - $200. It's been about a 1mo. They called her today saying it was going to cost $450. because it was really dirty & rusty. Do you think they are being fair & honest about the price? I can say he probably never had it serviceed. That kind of money doesn't come easy by me I have been on disability since 2007 motorcycle accident. I just don't know if I'm being taken because they know it's something special to me. I don't even know if that watch can rust inside.. l would be grateful to hear what you think..
