We have about 10 every summer- they come in early spring and have babies- Plano suburb, next to a ‘creek’ that is maintained- gets low, but not dry. I love watching them. Thank you!

It sounds as though you live in a really exceptional place, @inLawsAttic. Now that the creek is dry here almost all the time we no longer see these beautiful birds (also no frogs, no crawdads, no fish - of course).
