We use a product by Bushnell called a backtracker it's a battery powered disc that you turn on when you leave camp or your car, it turns itself off automatically then when you want to return you switch it back on and it points to your starting point direction and gives you the distance. Very easy to use 👌

You might have heard about the two prospectors over bere in WA who weren't so lucky a few weeks ago. They were only a couple of k's from their camp, but the heat got them unfortunately 😢.

I've heard of people useing a helium balloon 🎈 on a string at base camp so you can't get lost. But no good if it's a secret spot.

That could work in certain areas but I think this area is a little hilly and heavily treed. He now has a gps👍

It was a cracker, to be honest I'm not a big fan at the moment. I think it may need to go back it's a little noisy and touch sensitive.. I'm much more of a fan of the round coils. It might go alright in the wide open areas.
