This song will forever have a special place in my heart...Back in 74-75 I was in the 5th grade, our music teacher Mrs Low would teach us kids as much classics of the past decades, or perhaps the songs that SHE loved, lol. Anyways, whenever she play on the piano ' A Summer Place' she would have me sing lead...At the time I thought 'no big deal I'll do the best I can '. I didn't think much of the song because as a kid you're busy trying to sing it correctly and not miss pronounce the words and such...But later on in life, I have such pride, and felt such honor that she thought my voice was worthy enough to sang lead for this, my all time favorite #1 instrumental ( lyric version too ) EVER.. Those were truly the best time of my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world...Thank you Mrs Low, wherever you are, for instilling the love of instrumentals, beautiful classics, to us kids...Bless your heart..

I'm not a man easily given to tears; as I spent many years of my life as a special forces soldier. But as a musician, I perceive the playing of musical instruments as a true developed gift. I love all kinds of music, jazz, R&B, oldies pop music, classic country and bluegrass; and nowadays; electronic chill or ambient music. But when I hear this song played by such a well coordinated group of musicians, and to be able to LOOK AT THESE MEN AND WOMEN; and see the love they have for their music and their skills displayed; brings a tear or two to my eyes for the joy it brings my heart and soul! Beautiful arrangement, love the Percy Faith version as well only this has the beautiful woodwinds of flutes, oboes, clarinets included and there are women in this orchestra compared to Percy’s. Love both versions. In my 60’s now. Warms my heart ❤ Thank you for posting

Hallo .....💐 Thank you so much💐 My parents used to have a Volkswagen Beetle when I was small 🚗 in those days , my mother would always bring a tape recorder whenever we went on that car. Most likely to visit my grandmother, who lived in another city 120 kilometers away. This is the kind of music that my mother would play in the tape, such a memory 💐

I bought the Percy Faith original back in 1960 with saved up pocket money and have played it regularly over the years. I've always found it soothing and uplifting.
