Today we are going thrifting, I’ve got a thrift haul, and creating a simple tablescape with what I have for a summer party we just hosted. I hope you can get some inspiration. I’m also sharing some perspective I’ve been adapting in terms of practicing motherhood and hospitality.

Hi Emily, Today was wonderful. As someone with a background in nursing, I truly appreciate the great work you did for the residents. I did something similar this past Thanksgiving, hosting 12 people, which was more than usual. Typically, I have no more than 6 guests, but this year, all the kids came with their spouses or significant others. I creatively mix-matched my 6 beautiful pumpkin placemats with my 6 wicker ones, using an off-white floral tablecloth and a fabric runner, similar to yours. I adorned the table with small brass candle holders, tiny vases with flowers, and tea lights. It was stunning. I have a collection of ivory, red, and blue transferware from antique and thrift stores, which I combined with clear plates for a lovely presentation. I even cooked a seven-course meal all by myself! Please keep me in your prayers as chemo is so hard on my guy. I'm working hard and staying positive. Have a wonderful vacation! The baby is absolutely precious and growing so fast. @@EmilyGarbe see when I graduated HS. I lived in San Francisco and went to culinary cooking school. I’m super anal about germs and my food and my kitchen BUT, this year everyone brings something and I’ll make the turkey and my Puerto Rican Rice, the others can bring the rest. I’ll be 63 in October so I’m being intentional now. Mama has to do mama now lol……. Plus with my partner being in this situation I’ve been working around the clock. Thank god I worked in oncology and infectious disease sigh. I’m just sad I’m not a GMA yet. My son was with a woman younger than him by 7 years ( immature) he married her after dating 10 years. She promised children and they were trying , he walked into her bathroom and she had birth control pills out. He was done… she was lying to him for 5 years so he spent 15 years with her in total. He came to me crying … he loves children and really wanted a family. He is going to be 41 and has a new girlfriend he actually went to college with her. She is 2 years older than him and can not have children. 😳😳he adores her so that makes my heart happy. As for my girl, she is only 21…. So I’m sure it will be a while. Keep praying honey I have many people praying month 2 of chemotherapy almost done ✅🙋🏻‍♀️🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️🧡❤️🧡❤️🧡🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Cleaning the vase- equal parts sugar and crushed ice. Pour both in, swirl and swirl and swirl. Gets out burnt coffee pots, old glass stains etc every time.

On the small mouth glass vase..try filling it with water and dropping in a denture cleaner (such as Effordent, etc) with whitener. You may have to break the tablet to get it inside but they usually work pretty well.

A small handful of gravel,aquarium or other and a bit of soap and water will clean the vase

It’s really really nice & elegant it took me awhile to learn simple is always much more beautiful and classy I love it I’m so copying that dark green fabric for a runner it’s also in my opinion a neutral color that could easily pair with so many different colors ❤

Hi Emily How sweet that you did party for your husband’s friends. You did a beautiful job. I love the flowers going down the runner. I have learned I usually have everything I need for any occasion. I have thrifted so long. I wish we knew what you fixed food wise. I love your thrifted items. I just thrifted a cotton dress like that and can not wait to wear it. The other gingham dress is so cute with a baseball cap. I have a big head and I can wear Adidas but most I have to buy in the men’s section.😂 OMG Emily that baby…he is so beautiful. I love baby’s little chubby legs. Hopefully, soon he will go to sleep easier, but what a blessing he can sleep through noises. That fan is so nice. We could not find two estate sales that were in Ohio yesterday. We even asked people and they had no idea so we went to a private family estate sale. Usually, they are higher than companies. This one was reasonable, but nothing much we needed.I never go away empty handed, however. We found those long light bulbs for our closet that are now about twenty dollars or more for two so finding two for two fifty was nice. I also found a few miscellaneous items, but my favorite was a little concrete planter to put some lavender seeds in. I keep trying , but I can not grow lavender. If I plant a lavender plant it dies. I am going to succeed one day. You look beautiful Emily. I hope you had fun on your trip. Take care. I think you are amazing. I bet your company for the party was so appreciative. ❤❤❤❤

You can try a mixture of Dawn and vi gear and water and shake to mix..let it sit awhile and rinse. Even just vinegar and water will work pretty well

I use denture cleaning tablets inside my cloudy canning jars/ glass vases. Works most of the time! Great video! was just at Sarasota Bins yesterday!!!

Girl I finally got out Saturday evening & explored a bit.. and I'm shook!!😮 There Are 10 thrift stores less than 6mi from the house, 10 it 11 in Dade City, just 10-15min up the road and who knows how many with in an hours ride?!! Its weird tho that the nearest Good Will is about 20 min, and the bins, which I've never been to! That's ok tho. Then theres Tampa.. haven't ckd It either but i do know theres a big antique mall! I haven't ckd for antique stores yet either. Theres A huge habitat restore & big thrift store beside it about 5min, think that'll be my first stop. Looks like I'm going to be looking for clothes too, ummm gained a little weight & need some cooler pieces for this unbearable heat🥵 I'm pretty sure the stores you shop are within an hour also!😊 Awww baby boy is precious & getting so big! I hate to find a piece that i know i can find same price or cheaper brand new! That irks me😑 I'm going to be looking for some flat back baskets for peg rails, never could find but a couple back home. Also hope to find an accordian peg rail rack 🤞🏼 Girl please.. do not apologize for them babies! We've had our 3yr old & almost 5yr old grandkids for almost 3wks plus my sons10mth old & a hyper Frenchie🤪🫣 lol that's chaos!😂 Love the fan! We have one that did in the floor but we use a Dyson mostly, its a table top but it does osculate. Best part of all is theres no blades! Its just A round circle, very weird how it works🤷‍♀️ One of the guys from the recovery home we had back home found it brand new in a house clean out & brought it to us, otherwise we'd be using our cheap floor fan😄 I love hot that one osculates, pretty cool! Love my ball hats! Ana Maria Island is just over an hour from us. My son & his wife spent last weekend at St. Petersburg.. little mini vacay😊 love H&M too! Kids clothes are super cute! That vase is so pretty, so chunky! Just soak for a bit with dish soap, cover with your hand & shake it good, should do it. Really cute dresses.. love the gingham one, like you sad, perfect for Florida & exactly what i'll be looking for! The table scape turned out really pretty!
