What is the best way to figure the swag deep, before cutting the fabric? Is it by the cut width? Or fabric length? Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Is there a formula for figuring the drop length of a swag as a proportion of the length of the drape it will be in front of? It does seem that the shorter the drop the more casual the look. I want something very formal.
@OneWayDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Gloria, this is what I want to know. There has to be a formulation to be able to determine the results you want.

Jim , Need to learn how to sew these pieces. What type of sewing machine do you suggest to buy?
@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom7 жыл бұрын
Hello! The two things I look for in a sewing machine are power and the clearance between the presser foot and the plate for thick fabrics! I really do not know much about home sewing machines though. Good luck!

Good tutorial. Just one thing. This is the 21st century and we do not call grown women "girls." I assume you are not hiring minors to work in your shop. So, I believe you meant to say, "the WOMEN do this so much better...etc. etc." Other than that...great work.
@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom2 жыл бұрын
Yes the 21st century where people love to whine about being politically correct! So I guess it’s ok for you to say your having a “girls night out” but if a guy states something about girls in a totally innocent way it’s offensive. When a woman refers to a guys ATV’s and equipment as “boy’s with their toys” I guess we are supposed to get upset by this? Boys,men,woman,girls. It’s only an issue if you make it one. Have a positive life 😊
@marykayryan78912 жыл бұрын
@@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom Boy, this was a totally unnecessarily rude response. Generally, when a response starts out, "great tutorial" we try to respond politely. You make a lot of assumptions about me with no data. In fact, I NEVER say, "girls night out." Nor would I call men boys. And I hate the expression "she-shed" and man-cave." But the bottom line is "political correctness" is often just people asking you to treat them with respect. We don't call Black men, "boys" anymore either. You do the beautiful work of a grown man. I would never call you a boy while you were doing it. I request you do the same.
