Strong Philipino connection with Méxicans. Worked with lots of Philipinos, they are a lot like us. Fun fact: it was the Philipinos who started the Farm Worker's movement. They were the first modern day slaves of the fields that the USA had going for many decades. I think it was a man named Reyes who was the leader. The geography was closer, so USA started using Mexicans. Reyes helped Cesar Chavez take over the movement. We don't forget, forever grateful.

To be honest, México is a cartel controlled country, so to really develop we need to get rid of the organized crime. But yeah, that's an unlikely scenario, so I don't think we can be an economic superpower.

It is illegal, but people do it anyway. And every cop in Mexico works for the cartels and not for the people. There's too much corruption. In Mexico, to get along, you have to go along. I lived in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, for a few years, and the cartel in that city is literally everywhere and controls everything. Don't get me wrong, México is a beautiful country that I love very much. @mons3020

Fantastic video! Here are a couple more of very interesting facts about Mexico if ya'll may find it interesting :) After the war of independence ended in 1821 no republic was installed on the land, Mexico was born an EMPIRE stretching all the way from the modern border between Panama and Costa Rica all the way to the modern borders between California and Oregon including Texas and even a fraction of modern day Wyoming, basically the entirety of the U.S. southwest. This was an extremely ephemeral empire tho, since this state effectively lasted for less than a year... Those northern territories where taken by the U.S. military in 1846. There was a SECOND Mexican empire during the 1860's and was lead by an Austrian emperor from the Habsburg family, that empire lasted for about 3 years. In WW2 there was a special detachment of the Mexican airforce that fought over the Phillipines in 1945 directly helping U.S. and Filipino ground troops against the military of the Empire of Japan and went even further by bombing naval objectives over the then Japanese ocuppied Taiwan. The unit was known as the "Aztec Eagles"

Nice video except for the photo of the taco at 9:48 lol That is probably a taco from Taco Bell, not a mexican taco. If you're curious, in Mexico the tortilla is usually floppy, made out of flattened corn dough cooked in either a griddle or a machine, and often you will see they sprinkle chopped onion and cilantro and hot sauce on top of the meat. Now, there is a hard shell variation, made with fried tortillas. However, it is NEVER in a "U" shape, it's usually in the shape of a roll and generally doesn't have cheese inside (it can have grated white cheese on top though, as well as sour cream and lettuce and hot sauce). If you go down to Mexico saying that tacos are hard-shell, "U" shaped and with yellow cheese, people will find it weird.

I can’t wait for the Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique and Myanmar videos. They’re gonna be fantastic! Moldova’s history will have the country’s independence from neighboring Romania, the time it was part of the USSR and Transnistria as well. Monaco’s history will feature things like the city’s founding, the Monte Carlo casino and Princess Grace. Mongolia’s history will be the one about Genghis Khan, the vast Mongol Empire and the Mongolian People’s Republic. As for Montenegro, all I can think of is it was part of Yugoslavia. But there’s more than just that. The Morocco video will have Berbers, caliphates and interactions with Spain. Mozambique’s history video will chronicle its story from early inhabitants to the time it called it quits with Portugal. Myanmar’s history is going to be massive! Bagan kingdom, British colonization, 8888 Revolution, Aung San Su Kyi and the coups that happened. After all those, it’s onto the N’s, starting with Namibia.

Mexican here. I definitely disagree. The government is implementing measures to strengthen the military and weaken democratic institutions (giving less control to the people and more to the president). Economically we are making even less progress than before, opportunities for science (scholarships) have mostly disappeared. The president doesn't even speak english, is extremely old and can barely handle a nation (please, just hear one of his speeches, my 2 year old cousin speaks faster than him).

Mexico is a wonderful country. It had a Cristero war in the 1920s. The third and current constitution of Mexico began in 1917. In 1929 Mexico began a period of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI for its acronym in Spanish, which lasted until 2000. In 2000 Vicente Fox, who was the first president of Mexico elected by the people more, brought better democracy for Mexico. In 2018 Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador became president, the first leftist president, and now Mexico has its first female president of Claudia Sheinbaum. Finally the poverty and inequality of Mexico are being reduced to a larger extent. I want Mexico to reclaim its original territory, and may it be done in the near future. I was born in Mexico.
