Coopins! Reminded me of the Ron White sketch. Thanks for your emergency power videos Jason, it has definitely informed and upgraded my kit over the past 3-4 weeks

You know I love portable power.

I bought a 12V to 19V adapter, to charge my laptop from a battery. Clipped the lighter connector, added power poles, and VOILA! Charge laptop in the field.

Looks like a nice box. I'll have to watch if they create one without the A.C. output. I am actually in process of building something very similar without the battery or A.C. It has 3x anderson pp connections, 2x USB-Cx100w in/out, and a 12v buck-boost for 10 amps of regulated 12v output. For the JuiceGo, instead of buying another cig plug simply cut the wire on the provided cig plug and install anderson pp's on both ends so they can connect together again. Now you have both a cig to anderson adapter for the cig outlet on the JuiceGo, and you can charge the JuiceGo from any anderson pp equipped supply.

Thanks Jason, just picked up that cigarette lighter port adapter. I'm making a mobile/portable kit for my KX2.

You just KNOW someone out there is going to try and charge the battery by plugging the barrel connector to its socket and the lighter plug into the lighter socket on the pack itself .

Nice little all in one battery box! Have you done a video on that FX radio you mentioned? I'll have to search the channel.

Not yet. Haven't used that radio a whole lot since I got it.

@KM4ACK Thanks Jason! Hadn't seen that radio before, so I was curious. Really appreciate your insight and opinion things.

Would love to see a comparison between this and the Anker SOLIX C300. Anker is about $50 less and has 2 more AC ports. Thoughts?

This Thing is now on my Shoppinglist. Please Open it and give me a Look to the DC Connektor (the car Jack thing, i Don´t know how is colling in Englisch). Is it Possible to Replace it with a Dubble Powerpole Jack ? then is it for me Perfekt. 73 from Germany

XT60 is better than Anderson connector for Ham usage.
@kc8omg29 күн бұрын
@@4krist I used to do XT60's on everything, it certainly has higher current capacity while being physically smaller- but the one BIG advantage I found about Andersons is that there's no male/female- you make them all the same across all your equipment and anything can plug into anything else. The problem I started running into with XT60's once I had more radios, batteries, chargers, solar panels, etc was that I was frequently running into times where I wanted to interconnect things differently than I had originally planned and never had the "right" end (male or female) on something, and ended up having to add a connector, change a connector, or carry around a bunch of adapters all the time.
@rolnas2129 күн бұрын
@@kc8omg The only one way to use XT60, female on power source, because male could easily short and male for all equipment.
@4krist29 күн бұрын
@@kc8omg Nope, female is power supply, male is device and I no see any problem with male and female xt60. Female deliver power, male takes power.... easy and simple.

I disagree. Where is the specification for voltage drop vs. amps and contact resistance and allowable temperature increase? The XT60 takes longer to attach to wires with fiddily little solder pots, connecting or disconnecting under load leads to some nasty arc flash and contact damage, the contacts get loose over time, it will get very hot quickly with 30 amps continuous and will unsolder itself if you try to carry 45 amps for very long. The anderson attaches in seconds if you have the proper crimper, is within spec at 45 amps when used with 10ga, will carry 60 amps just as long as an XT60, the contacts do not loosen up, are self-cleaning and are easily replaceable if you connect or disconnect under load and burn a spot, and you do not need to stock both male and female parts. You can also create custom multi-conductor arrangements if, for example, you want to supply both constant and a switched source or multiple voltages, etc.

@@Sylvan_dB cheap chineese unbrand xt60 maybe... but with amass i never had a problem with more than 30A
