I like to PvP, and PvE. Usually wearing an Exo Suit nowadays. Unlocking it is easy with no cheats needed anymore, and usually on a server, official or unofficial, I'm not fussed. Single Player is great though, certainly with a guide for any platform be it xbox, ps4, ps5, pc, it's great. Sometimes play MTS, and usually post patch/update. But a survival game needs some community news and that's what I do, giving you the latest on events, small tribes, maybe even fast flyers and primitive plus, usually covering all maps from Island to Genesis Part 2. And one day. ARK 2!

@@Raasclark North zone 2 it is a great area, The hidden lake is a great location for Beaver Dambs. I find that there are more creatures past the swamp and the green obelisk, you are near Fars Peak, and the blue obelisk mountain which both have a great amount of metal, Crystal and obsidian. The redwoods are very accessible past the swamp and the green obelisk. You are also close to carnivore Island in North zone one. But north zone two is a better location.

North snow was where my group set up there first base. We already had allies up there who did well for themselves and so we decided to build there. It was a hard area but it was a lot of fun. Eventually the friends left and our house and Dino pin were the last things there. Yet I took the advantage and made a base at blue ob that ended up as our main base and last one as well. As the game force spawned all resources destroying our house. And eventually the game came out full release and our official server of 248 island never came back.

So much memories with this map, I remember years ago way before Rag being on official pvp. All the battles and raids and factions. So much memories. Then they hit us with the flyers nerf then eventually the volcano eruption....never turned back to that map.. 🥺

Early days of ark were amazing, until people started cheating and exploiting bugs, hopefully ark 2 can address those issues

forests on the Island are too dense. later maps seem to realize that: they have more areas where you can actually see. frequently, flying over the canopy reveals none of it's contents. that makes finding new tames difficult as you basically have to run along the ground, but the thick forests means you're either on a small mount dodging trees or on a large mount, destroying a tree every 5 seconds just to clear a path to walk. maybe it's to balance the resources available... but i think the devs just didn't like having empty space. maybe they thought it looked "unfinished" maybe that's why i like the desert biomes on maps like ragnorok or the lost island: clear view of the surroundings (without those nasty scorched earth weather effects)

Been playing on Rag mainly on my Switch, literally played over a week now and just came across my first artifact in the jungle area, behind and between a bunch of gorilla statues. So, I could upload my character from Rag and my dinos and send them to The Island, right? Do I have to beat all the obelisks?

@@ultraanimations7467 Here are some coordinates. Around 72, 76 is a Plateau surrounded by Cliff walls, one slope down to a very narrow beach, one near a river. Second location, 72, 69. That location has a river near it, plateau surrounded on all three sides by cliff walls. 14, 69. That is the next location. Weather top is a plateau on foot paw island, near the south zone one and west zone one start zones.

Most of the time if you go to aberration that will be your main map for a while as it’s so hard to beat or leave. I love the island. All the Dino’s were real and fun to tame or find.

On mobile, oceans are generally lame, the most terrifying thing would be the freakin eels, mosa's are nasty ngl but once you position yourself well enough in a underwater cave, taming one would be a piece of cake, not to forget mentioning that oceans are generally empty.

The Island would be a absolute great map if the spawn rates were improved. The thing that killed me the most doing a solo Ultimate ARK run trying to run through the official maps was the utter amount of hours utterly WASTED trying to find high level tames needed for boss running. In spite of starting in the Fall of 2018, by the Spring of 2019, I still never found a Rex with respectable base melee, and every Rex I found had below average HP for the level/taming efficiency I achieved, and it absolutely gutted my experience. When I defeated the overseer I went to Scorched Earth hoping it would be a bit easier because of the Rex spawns are predictable and more farming worthy, but even then it was still absolutely bad. Even on Valgureo which doesn't have the best rates, it's still light years superior rate wise than The Island. I love the Island but it's soul crushing to play on it just because of how bad the rates are. I see so many level 5-25 dinos that it makes me cry.

The islands where it all started. I never really cared for it but I also never really hated it. It was the island that allowed me to learn how the game was played before I switched over to scorch. It was the place that allowed me to figure out what Tamed dinos are good for what certain thing. It had some decent bosses some okay caves but you are right terrible building locations. But I will say it's probably the one map that has more detail on it than any other map because it was the beginning. As much as I love Scorch, aberration, Extinction. And all these Maps look beautiful they did felt like they were never lived in unlike the islands where you can see there was past civilizations and tribes that used to live in this place. Plus the drawings and the notes and the details of dinos that exist on that map. A good starting area is the islands for anybody that gets into Ark it's a bit difficult but it will definitely teach you everything you will need to know. Just avoid the swamps as much as possible swamp fever runs rapid on the islands one of the reasons why I instantly went straight to Scorch and didn't stay on the islands I was getting tired of constantly walking out and having swamp fever and never getting rid of it because I can never make a less antidote.

@@adrian9420 and again it's perfectly fine to be on the island like I said it's not a terrible map it's just not my favorite but it will keep a place in my heart because it was the very first map I played and the very first map that allowed me to learn all the things that I would need to learn. I just hate the island for the simple fact swamp fever is everywhere especially servers where the coastlines are just covered in that huts and everybody has swamp fever

@@adrian9420 yeah and again my issue with that whole thing is the easy zone is Larry the right next to the swamp that you can easily catch swamp fever from. One of the rare ingredients that you're going to need is woolly rhino horns or Death Worm horns which requires you to go into the hard Frozen Zone in Islands which if you're just starting out the game don't have a base maybe one or two dinos to your name and barely any levels you're not going to easily get a woolly Rhino horn

Most of the time you can't build in caves housing artifacts, also I do believe you can't transfer Artifacts from other maps, you can't even transfer Apex drops unless there are methods that aren't cheating that I'm not aware of. I also don't play on many PvP style maps either so idk about them but on PvE you can't build in caves. Also building in an artifact cave seems kind of cheap too, not only are you blocking the Artifact and the loot crates but also the Explorer notes inside that people may want. Note to mention the Artifact being in the cave provides a reason for people to go in and spot your base making it probably not the best hiding spot. But people who do those kind of things are why I don't play on public PvP servers.

Yo, any three points would create a triangle! ~@1:22 In fact, any three points define a plane (not the one that flies, the one like in UE4 you can make a terrain from). If you mean equilateral triangle, I never checked... but holy cow, just because I be a math teacher (sic) in the NYC BOE for about 2 years in the late 1980s until I realized the High School kids were functionally illiterate, so couldn't do math either, (and it was pre-pre prison training), doesn't mean I don't remember stuff. That hurt me Raasclark, that hurt... like your Ark videos though... except for the ones outdated but not updated to say so, so I get into trouble sometimes... (like Argies can't pick up Barys anymore).

Great Vid! One thing I would include for players is Tekgrams, island is one of the best place to get them, and for some reason a lot of players don’t know where to start for like Tek turrets or the Tek suite etc - well thought out tho and keep up the great work
