The A minor 7th chord progression in the beginning pairs nicely with the blues scale’s melody, I learned that scale in band class and I didn’t realize the importance of learning proper chord progressions until recently, I paired it with the blues scales and it’s an easy way to improvise some songs. Great video I learned a lot I practice with this video and refer to this video when I have to remember the finger placements

Dude, really enjoy your piano lessons. I've decided to spruce up my piano (guitar is my main instrument). While there's some good lessons on KZbin, yours really stand out, because they're really interesting and digestible - enough to bite off and practice in each lesson. Great teaching and thank you!

The e 7 alt appears to be E7 #5#9. also it's a good thing to to notice how close a c major 7 is is to an e minor 7.. c major 7 is (c e g b) and eminor7 is (e g b d) just good to how closely chords are related to each other. I learn every day new things. I have had many private lessons in the past but generally classical music at the sub university level does not go deep into chord theory..The average jazz musician has a respectable knowledge of music theory both playing and theory. If we are in c, we can go to e minor 7 b5 in an instant. e g b.
@Piano_Pig7 жыл бұрын
Very right you are! You could think of Em7 as a rootless voicing for Cm9 - very similar chords indeed... it all depends on what the bass is doing!
@PIANOSTYLE1007 жыл бұрын
PianoPig yeah the em7 ( e g b d) is right next to the e minor 7 b5 (e g bb d) This I a really comfortable cord to make . I think it's in Georgia on my mind.. fma7. (face) to eminor 7 b5.( above) to a7 ( e g a c#)
