A swing and a miss? 2024 BMW X2/iX2 review

BMW's just released the iX2 (and X2), a coupe version of the latest X1. The X1 is a good car because it's practical and quietly handsome. The X2/iX2 is… erm… different. Join me for a thorough walkaround review including a look at backseat headroom, boot space, cabin tech and - of course - the all-important driving bit. Fun fact: the car in this video is £65,000.

Your channel is one of the few where I let the ads pass without skipping :-) Agreed with the pricing, it's ridiculous. I my country the "leasing" option looks better as it includes insurance, but... I expect massive drops in value. M35i costs 1.88 mil CZK and an X5 50e (!!!) with 20k on it goes for 2.4 - 2.5 mil CZK.

I can't really think of a comment for the IX2, doesn't seem to hit any ticks for my wants/needs in a car, but i'm sure it will others wants or needs Migraines are horrible, one thing that helps take the tight tension feeling away is called migrastick, litereally a stick with a ball roller filled with peppermint oil and lavender oil. Not sure if available in the UK, do get in Aus

The front grille is hideous. It is like chauffeuring the Queen, but putting her in a broken down rover with mismatching body panels. I don't care if it is electric. Give me a regular looking grille. Also, if you want me to buy a car, it must have knobs.

Things seem to have gone backwards with BMW from the removal of so many buttons and an idrive system that is very distracting, to the general lower quality components in the cabin. Even the mighty 7 Series suffers with design issues and lower quality than the previous generation.

Tim, I'm relieved that you got out of the back seat without the use of a slippery bar of soap. In profile the car looks like a bastard version of the old Saab 900 (showing my age). Ultimately a car built just for the sake of building a car i.e. a waste of time.

Well done bmw Design a swoopy roof ' coupe' which means anybody over 5 ft 8" will not fit in the back, and then add a halfords rear spoiler to undo the sloopy roofs hard work.

Same here. My last was the F22 coupé which was good until it started falling apart. I switched to Toyota and haven't looked back. Only BMWs I would consider going forward would be before the Bangle era
