Any fun projects that you have or are currently working on? Biggest point in this video--try new things! Threads may bust : ) but you learn with each project. Thanks for watching!

I put together a cable knit sweater with fabric from JoAnns. It turned out pretty cute. The knit did show itself to be lower quality compared to what I wanted. Just sewing it gave it a bit of a worn look. It will be a trendy fall staple. Thankfully, a worn look is in fashion! 😊 I used Simplicty 9826. 🎉

@@TheSewingCircle-LesleyRosas oooh love that! Isn’t it interesting how the fabric can really change (for better or worse sometimes 😆) when sewn up?! Will definitely have to check that pattern out-it’s my goal to sew a cable knit sweater this fall! Happy sewing! 🧵🪡

Wow, the top is beautiful. That you made that is reversible. Oh my goodness...😮😅 The breaking up the threads! Dun Dun Dunnn! I'm getting ready to go on a trip. And now I'm thinking. I better reinforce the seams before I get on the plane.😂

Btw, don’t forget to checkout the fabric district of Los Angeles when moving to California. The prices are pretty good 😊

Great video! Love watching your sewing journey! When I make sweatpants or anything with knit fabric, I just use a zigzag stitch. The knit fabric won’t unravel like woven fabric does, so a zigzag stitch will work just fine if you don’t have an over locker (which I don’t). For my woven fabric garments that I want to take care of and keep for a long time, I will use the French seam method, but not for knits. Also, the zigzag stitch gives your garments the ability to stretch with you when you need it (like when I sit down 😉). Hope that helps!

SO helpful!! Thank you so much for sharing this. I am 100% going to use the zig zag stitch with my next knit garment. Just got done sewing a new pair of joggers in sweatshirt material and the French seam busted open in the same place on them. 😆 Definitely going to implement the zig zag because I don’t have an over locker yet. Really appreciate the tips! Happy sewing to you!

My pleasure! The straight stitch just isn’t the right stitch for knits. They need to have the ability to stretch with the fabric which is why the zigzag stitch will help. I promise you won’t have split seams when you sit. 😉

I enjoy your videos, I find them very inspiring. Would you consider demonstrating how you sew pants using a French seam?

Thank you! I am so glad you enjoy the videos, and I have the same experience when I see other sewists share. It really inspires me to keep sewing. 😊 I would be happy to make a video on that! I will put that on my list for the near future! 🌼

Hi! Thank you so much! To be honest, I am not 100% sure what kind of fabric it is. It feels almost like a light to mid weight polyester blend. I got it from Joann fabrics a few weeks ago marked 60% off! But I also found some great sweatshirt material on sale There the last time I went. Happy sewing, and thank you for being here! 😊

Dart finishing - start a waist. Stitch to the point and sew off the fabric for 1/2 inch and do not cut. Turn the garment around stitch close to fold a few stitches making sure you leave some slack from the threads that were sewn off from point of dart and backstitch.

Have you tried the triple stitch on your sewing machine? It reinforces the seam.

Hi. New subscriber here. I’m not sure but the problem with the pants splitting on the seam may be the pant rise seam may be too short. Really enjoy your videos.
