It is time to check our hives! Hive inspections help understand your bees better and they help us identify and fix problems before they get out of hand. We have two hives right now: one we bought from a local bee store and the other is a swarm we caught a few weeks ago. Let's check and see how they both are doing!

I love bees, and I love to eat their honey! Unpasteurized of course! I think of honey being very precious and expensive because of all of the labour that went into producing it. Thank you for your video, and for being a bee keeper, as bees have a very important job for the earth!

I know this is an older video but I'm new to your channel. Your frames all need to be pushed together. I'd also cut the comb off the lid and rubber band it in a frame without any foundation in it. Love to see an update on your hives.

Looks good to me, but I don't know anything!😂🐝 I thought it was great there were bee's in the swarm box! I have to say, I respect the courage of beekeepers and don’t know how you could wear the suit! It's pretty hot down here in the central valley!💯💐 The kids are doing a great job with their chickens,ducks, and turkeys! 🐥🦆🦃They're hard workers and surely blessings to your family! Did the swarm hive have any eggs? That will answer your questions about it. As for the big hive, don't leave a open space, especially in the middle, or they will fill it the way they want. If you don't have waxed formations for them to use you can cut and stick a strip of comb along the top to show a pattern for them to follow or run 3 support wires from top to bottom for them to build upon. With empty spaces they can and do build in crazy patterns that you won't be able to access without destroying.
