I fenced saber for 8 years and I can confirm the fencing axe is is one of the most underrated moves.

@@ckopen7192 there’s different swords I think. I tried it for a little but it wasn’t my thing. I think the most common is saber, but I may be wrong. The only other I can think of is Rapier.

I hate to be the smartass in the comments but there actually is a parry 6, all the way up to 9. I quit fencing in high school so I don't remember much, but the sequel to parry 5 is incredibly mediocre and underwhelming

I’ve been fencing for ten years and it’s truly interesting to see the Octo fencing axe technique. In the French system we instead favour boring our opponent to death with philosophy.

@Ringadingding But it literally is. Epee and foil are meant to simulate a classical duel using a rapier style weapon, while sabre is meant to simulate a more brutal style of practical combat. The moves used in fencing were absolutely used in actual duels, even if they weren’t exactly the most useful things to know on the battlefield.

It only happens that foil has right of way and is more technical than saber, making the perfect discipline for a great lads such as myself. Go off I suppose, playing a sport for peasant. 🧐

The excitement of the free striking gives you much more variety in your styles, thus making it a more interesting form of fighting. And right of way is not accurate to history in the slightest. To kill your opponent first and still lose? Madness.

Been sword-fighting since I was two, professionally since 16, and I was 100% expecting some pleb-weeb who had never heard of SCA or HEMA, but you actually have good body mechanics in your cuts, especially since you're 3 feet from the wall and have no room for footwork. Hey, not sure if you're seeing this, but I belive this game got a fairly sizable update recently. There's a much more open map, horse riding, even cooking with fish. Who knows, it might be worth it to check out again.

I highly recommend Sword and Sorcery. The inertia simulation feels weird at first, but you get used to it rather quickly. This was a great video and I can't wait to see more VR content from you.
