I have truly connected to the African continent and each journey has been absolutely amazing.
Egypt was unbelievable and so deeply spiritual as we walked among and touched the pyramids and sailed the beautiful Nile.
Our Kenya Safari was truly out of this world as we saw the big five and more. We even watched a Cheetah pack kill, WOW!!
I can't wait to visit South Africa in a few months to experience Cape Town, Johannesburg and more. I am so excited about the possibilities.
I must say that, so far, Ghana has been my most soul stirring African journey and the experience with Daniel Adotey Pappoe was truly concierge level as he went above and beyond catering to our small group. He hosted us at several amazing eateries with amazing Ghanaian food and its said that to experience a country, one must eat it's food and have a taste of it's drinks and we definitely did that.
Within the Ghanaian society (Culture), Food is central to life regardless of where you are in the Country. Restaurants and Chop bars can be found on every street corner of Ghana's towns which serves Indigenous Ghanaian delicacies from fufu to banku, Konkonte(Face the Wall), Red Red, Gari fotor to name a few. Every tribe within each region has its favourite dish.
Once you are in Accra you are really spoiled for choice on places to eat and restaurants to experience. Examples are Asanka Local which have a massive food hall serving all Ghanaian dishes ( Fufu, Banku, Talapia, Kenkay & more). The Republic, where you can sample some indigenous Ghanaian dishes and listen to traditional music, Azmera restaurant which serves a great deal of delicious local meals that are carefully prepared by good professional local cooks, The Chop Bar just as the name suggests, this local food eatery specializes in delicious Ghanaian food from fufu with assorted soups to banku with it's "akutruments", Buka Restaurant a truly African restaurant, which serves variety of fusion dishes from Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, Nigeria and Senegal.
I truly can't wait to return!
